在图书馆的一排排书架间漫不经心的转着,眼神粗略扫过一个个书名,突然站住,定睛,《蝴蝶梦》,好美丽的名字,一本精致的小书,最近几日得功夫便读几业,虽读的不甚细致,但还是粗评一篇,毕竟我们结缘是如此偶然。 这是一本无须细品的小说,作者是英国女作家达夫妮-杜穆里埃,她的小说因多以英国西南部大西洋沿岸的康沃尔郡的社会习俗与风土人情为主题或背景,故有“康沃尔小说”之称。

在《蝴蝶梦》中,作者成功塑造了一个颇有神秘色彩的女性吕蓓卡的形象,虽然她在小说刚开始时就已经死去,却有时刻存在,通过女主人的感情色彩的变化,通过故事情节的发展,她的形象从一个极端到另外一个极端,似乎是由这些活人的生活一点一点挖掘吕蓓卡的全面的性格特点,由小见大,吕蓓卡放浪形骸之外的腐化生活以及她畸形的婚姻,揭露了英国上层社会的享乐至上尔虞我诈,穷尽及奢,势力伪善等现象,缠绵悱恻的怀乡忆久与阴森压抑的绝望恐怖双重气氛交叠渗透,文章如剥洋葱一般一层层显示出真相,令人意外,也加强了文章的趣味性。

很可爱的一本书,像它的名字一样美。

读完小说的时候已是晚饭过后两个钟头,也许是结局令我惊诧,我有好一会儿没缓过劲来。想起要写读后感,噢天,我此刻一点儿思路没有,旋转在我脑海里的就是曼陀丽庄园、迈克西姆·德温特、德温特夫人、吕蓓卡、弗兰克、丹弗斯太太„„这些普通不普通的外国人名以及跌宕起伏的小说通常给人留下的余味。

在曼陀丽庄园里,我第一次听闻了形形色色的花草:“紫阳,它的花穗曾经颇负盛名,但现在因为无人修剪照料,也成了野生植物。它的枝干高得出奇,却无法开出一朵花来,又黑又丑,如同左近那些无名的草木一样”;“石砌的葡萄园在阳光下光芒闪闪,紫茉莉花染着尘埃,泛出白色”;“石南花那样红,像鲜血一般,着实把我吓了一跳。石南成团成簇,茂盛得让人惊疑不止,看不见叶子,也看不见枝干,只有一片象征杀戮的血红色„„”;“此外,还有泥土的苦涩味,多年苔鲜的清香,羊齿梗和扭曲入地的树根的气息”„„不得不惊叹作者扎实的写作功底,可以把花草描写得令我这个莫名其妙反感写景散文的读者不厌其烦地喜欢。突然想到钱钟书的《围城》,比喻什么的确实用得好甚至是绝妙,可未免太多了点,不免有卖弄的嫌疑,于是到底,我没能将钱老的名作读下去。那么达芙妮·杜穆里埃倒是抓获了我的眼我的心。

曼陀丽庄园如果真实存在的话,我敢保证它是英国乃至全球少有的最令人向往的居住地之一。你能想象你家周围既有玫瑰园每夜芬芳,又有“幸福谷”蜂蝶群群,不远处是树林荫郁,房后又是波涛阵阵吗?若非有时浓雾让人心神不宁,还有什么好挑剔的吗?大胆地幻想一下吧,在那样一个地方,吃过熏肉和咖啡早餐就去海湾走走,中午可以在栗子树下用茶,吃点脆的薄饼或蛋奶酥,傍晚时分就唤上小狗杰斯珀到玫瑰园修修剪剪,最妙的当数晚饭过后了,洗个澡然后在藏书室的壁炉旁看随便哪本喜欢的书或当天的报纸,累了就到窗边远眺,夜幕下的海也不会令你失望,依稀的风浪声绝对胜过时下的流行曲。这样的生活,不是不惬意而难以割舍的吧。当然,如果你是女主人,又恰好喜欢高朋满座,那么每年举办一次化装舞会,定会令周围邻居感激而怀念。在曼陀丽庄园里,吟游诗人画廊就足够你欣赏或临摩,那些几百年前的作品,到今日仍光彩照人。

不得不提通向庄园的那条长长的车道,两旁是密集的树木,树枝在空中交接,仿佛这里是一通隧道。夏天的时候,树杈上或别的什么地方会有鸟巢吧,多少鸟儿在此度过了难忘岁月,难道不令人感觉自豪?秋天叶落之时,来这里走一走,踩在层层叠叠的树叶上,难道不会忍不住欢喜雀跃吗?也许冬天是冷了些,也无法滑雪,但是堆雪人还是可以玩得尽兴吧,尽管我更愿意在壁炉边看书,手旁有杯白兰地,如果我会喝酒的话。

是的,一定有人想知道这里头讲了一个什么样的故事,毫无疑问,有人对此发生了兴趣。本书原名叫《吕蓓卡》,而吕蓓卡是原曼陀丽庄园的女主人,也是创造者,是她让曼陀丽庄园变得远近驰名。在一般人看来,吕蓓卡是位完美女性,她健康活泼,

善良慷慨,热情勇敢,不仅把庄园打理得井井有条,还在空闲时驾船出海,每年还参加郡里举办的船艇竞赛。她看起来是多么精力充沛,胆识过人,却死于一次海上意外,令德温特难受到要离家出走,而在法国南部的蒙特卡洛遇见并娶了“我”,一个类似个人助理的角色。随后,小说开始使出浑身解数,令人感觉扑朔迷离,不管是针对吕蓓卡还是处处使“我”难堪的丹弗斯太太,或是迈克西姆.德温特先生,迷团一个接一个,转机却也适时出现。这就是我为什么会读得津津有味的最大原因了。

作为一个中年丧妻的成功人士,如何会在相识个把月后就娶了“我”,一个每年仅仅收入九十英镑的私人助理,以及才二十出头的“我”,如何会不顾尊卑地爱上那个拥有古宅子的可作自己父亲的男人,这些都令我感觉妙不可言,可惜作者并未对此多加着墨。

起初,我并不理解小说为何更名为“蝴蝶梦”,直至看到最后一段我明白了:

“只有在冬天才能看到北极光,是吗?”我说,“夏天看不到吧?”

“那不是北极光,”他说,“那是曼陀丽。”

我瞥了他一眼,他的脸,他的眼睛,我看得清清楚楚。

“迈克西姆,”我说,“迈克西姆,发生了什么事?”

他把车开得更快,全速疾驶。汽车翻上前面的那座山头,我们看见兰因就在我们脚下的一片凹地里躺着。我们的左方是一条银带似的大河,河面逐渐开阔,伸展着通向六英里外克里斯处的河口。我们面前,通往曼陀丽的大道向前延伸。我们头顶是一片漆黑的夜空,没有月光。但地平线那儿的天空却截然不同,那儿是一片血一样的猩红,咸涩的海风混杂着火炭灰,一阵一阵地向我们迎面吹来。

是的,达芙妮以这样的描述告诉我们,曼陀丽庄园被无情地烧毁了。就像一只蝴蝶的生死,也曾绚烂却总是短暂。而和庄园有关的所有人,当某一天回想起它,只仿佛做了一场蝴蝶梦,是与非,忠诚与背叛,都不再值得提起。

作者达芙妮·杜穆里埃受十九世级以神秘、恐怖等为主要特点的哥特派小说影响较深,所以给我的们带来了如此曲折离奇的小说经典。值得学习的是,“作者塑造的‘吕蓓卡’形象除在倒叙段落中提到外,从未在书中出现,但却时时处处音容宛在,而故事叙述者‘我’,虽是个喜怒哀乐俱全的大活人,实际上却处处起着烘托吕蓓卡的作用,这是种以‘实有’陪衬‘虚无’的手法。”

总之,《蝴蝶梦》绝对是值得一看的小说,相对它来说,《挪威的森林》就不那么吸引人了。

如果有机会,我会再重温此作。也希望将来能接触到更多更好的英国现代小说。

Rebecca

The introduction of writer:

Daphne du Maurier (1907-1989) has been called one of the great shapers of popular culture and the modern imagination. Among her famous works are Jamaica Inn, The Scapegoat, Rebecca, and the short story "The Birds," all of which were subsequently made into films, the latter two were directed by Alfred Hitchcock.

The introduction of film director:

Alfred Hitchcock (1899-1980), an English director. He has learned engineering at London University. Then he began to produce a film in 1920 and direct his first work 6 years later .He is acknowledged as one of the most incomparable master in the history of film because of advanced technology and completed details. The Thirty-nine Steps (1935) and The Lady Vanishes (1938) are the English film under his direction. The film Rebecca (1940) is his a American work and win the bid for the Oscar prize in that year. Later, he has directed the film Phycho (1960), The Birds (1963) and Frenzy (1972).

The Ubiquitous Rebecca

I spent the majority of this film thinking about how lucky M. Olivia really was. To be able to wrap his arms around Joan Fontaine and kiss her. She's one of the most beautiful women I've ever seen. She's also absolutely perfect in the role of the second Mrs. DeWinter, taking a character that could have transformed her into a sympathetic and interesting figure.

The movie, on the whole, is similarly amazing, capturing the spirit and the tone of those great Gothic romances. Watching Rebecca, I reminded pleasantly of his other films I have seen, such as The Rear Window, just for Grace Kelley .I love her wonderful show in this film .Actually, I like all the films she was in. And It is a pity that she departed Hollywood and was willing to marry a king in reality.

I must assume that the guiding hand of Hitchcock played no small role in

recreating the feel of a Gothic romance. There are very few that would be able to take a love story, infusing it with such gloom, with such a sense of Gothic scary, and still manage to create something that ends happily . I'd also like to draw everyone's attention to the incredibly moving section of the film that occurs between the arrival of the second Mrs. DeWinter at Manderly. The emotional change on the Joan Fontaine character is so palpable which pains me to watch. I feel hurt along with her. Few other movies affect me so deeply in emotion.

On a cliff of south France, she meets an odd, grieved, but glamour man by mistake. Maxim De Winter has lost her wife several years ago. Apparently, he is in blue mood because his wife was drawn herself and even he wants to commit suicide for frustrated love. But the true fact is that Maxim has killed his wife and he could not escape the feeling of evil, and he is in scary everyday .That spirit of Rebecca is wander in Manderly. Then Mr.Winter fall in love with that lovely and kind-hearted girl and propose to her when she is going to leave with her master. So, they come back together to Manderly.

Mrs. Danvers has never shown her emotion in the house. She is a woman filled of mystery. Her ramble represent in the room will make you can not breath and quicken your rate of heart. She always representing in where she should have not and with the statue of higher position. It seems that Mrs. Danvers is a Rebecca. In this film ,the photographer has never paned the camera to Mrs. Danvers to display her coming, but make the music and sound go faster than her. Under her caution arrangement in the house, a sense of horrible feeling is flooded into the young lady.

Mrs. Winter is trapped in uneasy state now. Of course, she eagers to blend with the family life well with the other people. But anything she could find suggests that her husband still love Rebecca. Therefore she planted to wear the new dress like the oil painting in the room so that to make her husband happy and love her more. What is she never can know is that the women in dress on the oil painting is Rebecca, which disclose a murder case many years ago! When Mr. Winter has seen her dress, he is extremely angry. His bad temper and odd manner let her feel hurt. In order to save her heart, he admits that he killed Rebecca, that immoral, heartless and evil-minded

woman.

Mrs. Winter nearly commits suicide under the huge press coming form Mrs. Danvers. The dead woman, Rebecca, has so much mystery upon her. At this time, the sunken ship with the body of Rebecca is found on the sea and her cause to death allure curiosity. Later, the winter couple knows that Rebecca has infected heavy cancer before her death, and she took advantage of this to revenge Mr. Winter. Mrs. Danvers burn Manderly with herself accounting for she can not receive the result, the Rebecca in reality. They contrive sincere and affection love forms each other after they know the fact of all things.

I have never known the looks of Rebecca, but felt her Ubiquitous in the room. Mr. Winter and his wife live in the room filled of the letter R, which represent the ex-wife of Mr. Winter, Rebecca, the hostess in Manderly. The film Rebecca has never forgotten to make exaggerated additions to the handkerchief, bed sheet and clothes. And this not existing Rebecca promote the development in this story and affect everyone once has went along with her .It seems like Mrs. Danvers is another Rebecca. And I see a strong and existing form her speech and smile. This typical style to shoot a film is out of the ordinary and imitated by people in the following days to film mystery movies.

When i began to read the novel Rebbecca, I was deeply absorded by the misterious plot.

"Last night, I dreamt I went to Manderley again" is the book's often quoted opening line, and from here its unnamed narrator recollects her past, telling the story of her transition into womanhood.

Maxim was the owner of Manderley, a big country house by the sea. His beautiful wife Rebecca had died there, and Maxim went to Montr Carlo after her death because he needed to get away. In Montr Carlo, he met an ordinary girl who then became his second wife. The week they spent in Montr Carlo together was extremely happy. But when they returned to Manderley, the woman’s problem began.

At the heart of the story was the woman’s desire to please her husband and her feelings of hopelessness as she compared herself with his beautiful and highly educated first wife, in comparison with whom she felt plain and dull. The first wife seemed to be always in the background and threw a dark shadow over her relationship with her new husband. The name of the second Mrs. de Winter is never revealed and remains a mystery.

After read the book, we only see Rebecca through other people's eyes, predominantly Maxim's eyes. Because Maxim hated her, we are led to think that she was bad. Yet it is clearly stated that she had a knack for getting people to love her. This is told in such a way that we think of Rebecca as a manipulative person. But was that the case? Was she genuinely nice? I think this is a case of the unreliable narrator. Because of her affairs Maxim and his family hated her but that may not be her whole story. I think it would be nice to have some discussion of this issue in the article.

After reading the whole story of Rebecca, i can not help asking: why does the heroine remain nameless? This absence of a name symbolizes the heroine's uncertain identity, on which she often nearly loses her grip during her time at Manderley. In marrying Maxim she has taken a new name, and her new acquaintances address her by this name, but she cannot feel comfortable in it--for she is not the first Mrs. de Winter. Effectively, she is competing for the right to bear her title of Mrs. de Winter- -competing with a ghost, the dead Rebecca.

What I have learned from this book is not only about some writing techniques and skills that had been perfectly used into this novel, more important is Daphne du Maurier the writter, she give us a brand new perspective of the women characters in the novel and women in general, and about the relationship between people.

影片从梦中的女主人公---第一人称的'我'回忆往事开始。夜里,我又梦回曼陀丽。面对这堆被焚的中世纪建筑废墟,我又想起很多过去„„

那是从法国开始的。做为'陪伴'的我随范霍夫太太来到蒙特卡洛。

一天,在海边我看到一个在陡崖边徘徊的男子。我以为他要投海,就叫出了声。他向我投来愤怒的一瞥。我知道我想错了,他可真是一个怪人。 很巧,他竟同我们住在同一个饭店里。从范霍夫太太那里,我知道他是著名的曼陀丽庄园的主人德温特先生。他的妻子——美丽的吕蓓卡去年划船淹死了。也许这就是他这样怪的原因吧。

因为感冒,范霍夫太太又请了一位护士。我自由了,同德温特先生见面也就多了。我们共进午餐,一起散步、跳舞。我告诉他我的一切,他却淡淡地提起他的曼陀丽„„多次的见面,多次的交谈,我们彼此吸引着。爱就这样萌发了!

可是,范霍夫太太却要赶着去参加女儿的订婚仪式。我立刻去找德温特。

警长和德温特等人来到贝克大夫那里,证实了吕蓓卡是得了晚期的癌症而最后一次来看病的。费弗尔失败了。

当我们快活地赶回家时,只见一片大火。丹佛斯太太发疯了,放起火来,她不愿看到她的偶像就这样失败了。

浴火重生——《蝴蝶梦》读后感有些花朵在冬天的寒气里会变成枯萎的粉末,人们会亲眼目睹到这样的一个看似缓慢却又无限遐想的过程,从最初的美好花香和鲜艳到变成枯萎的零落花瓣。蓝灰色的天空,蕴藏着深不见底的黑暗,乌云翻滚着吞噬了最后一道光线。但我们在天快要亮的时候点燃焰火,也许就会吸引

仿佛人生如梦,梦醒了什么都没有了。当谜底揭开的那一刻,除了那个空空的真相,什么也没有得到。 温德特夫人失去了那种小妞儿似的滑稽而迷惘的表情,一夜之间换上了老成的面具。这真的是她想要的吗?在情与法的交织中,她的选择对吗?难道真如迈克西姆所言,吕蓓卡得胜了?也许就是这种如梦似幻的感觉使得《蝴蝶梦》被译成二十多种文字,再版重印四十多次,并被改编搬上银幕。 《庄子·齐物论》:“昔者庄周梦为蝴蝶,栩栩然蝴蝶也,自喻适志与!不知周也。俄然觉,则蘧蘧然周也。不知周之梦为蝴蝶与?蝴蝶之梦为周与?周与蝴蝶则必有分矣。此之谓物化。”

我仿佛又回到了曼德丽庄园„„开头就吸引了我。梦呓般的陈诉,轻轻的带人走进仿佛荒凉多时的古老庄园。曾经的繁华现已不见,看到的只有凄凉。但是,经历过她的辉煌的人们,还是能从中隐隐窥到当日盛宴般的情景。美丽的前女主人,带着她的骄傲,毫不客气的霸占了曼德丽。连下人们都一直缅怀着过去的主人。即使,她已经离去。即使,新来了一个女主人。我是很恨身为前女主人的她,讨厌看到她还残留的

影子一直游荡在庄园。是她,让所有没有的一切不复存在。后来的女主人,只好活在被她笼罩的庄园。每一个地方,都有她的影子,让人窒息。逃离吧。最终是逃离了。但是,梦里还是一遍遍回到那个地方,梦里,已经杂草丛生,烟雾缭绕。梦里,回到过去,看到一片苍凉。

作者达芙妮杜穆里埃塑造了一个近乎完美的女性丽贝卡,然而小说中的她从始至终都是一个已故的德温特夫人。丽贝卡已不存在,却无所不在,无论生前还是死后,她都能控制着臣服于她的人,控制着曼陀丽豪苑。小说中的“我”作为曼陀丽的新女主人,作为一个曾经没有接受过良好教育的平头小辈,无时无刻不在丽贝卡强大的阴影下胆颤心惊地生活,直到一次船只的偶然搁浅,才揭开了丽贝卡的真实死因,驱散了“我”心中的全部疑团和恐惧。幸福并不像想象得那样,丽贝卡留在世上的忠仆丹弗斯太太在黑夜里将曼陀丽送入了火焰。红霞向夜空散开,将痛苦化为灰烬,然而,火焰真的能将所有的过往埋葬吗?尽管“我”和丈夫永远地离开了豪苑,但梦境中的惶恐还是会以某种无法预见的形式卷土重来。从《蝴蝶梦》中醒来,我发现这部作品和《基督山伯爵》一样,在文学史的排行榜上地位不高,然而它们却依然能在读者的心中经久不衰。在《蝴蝶梦》的人物中,最令我感慨万千的就是丽贝卡和她的忠仆丹弗斯太太。“我”的丈夫德温特曾绝望地说“丽贝卡得胜了”,而“我”却认为丽贝卡输了。作为读者,一个贸然闯进《蝴蝶梦》的世界的人,我想“幸福”在每个人心目中的定义是各不相同的。丽贝卡在临死前还在嘴角绽开的微笑和那似乎已经预料到最后一次胜利的眼神,宣告了她心中的“幸福”就是挑战的快感和胜利的满足。她在死后仍使丈夫摆脱不了石楠一样密集的惶惶不安,仍使“我”时刻相信“丽贝卡是最完美的”,仍使所有人记得“丽贝卡才是曼陀丽的主宰者”,那么,这一切都实现了,所以她成功地获得了她定义的幸福。而在“我”最终了解“丈夫从未爱过前妻丽贝卡”的瞬间,“我”感觉到她的阴影再也不会来打扰“我”。站在一个女人的角度上,我认为丽贝卡是可怜的,她从不曾获得爱情,没有体会过那种情感的温暖,她不会懂得付出,没有奉献过与她的外表,教养和智慧同等的善良。她幸福么?是的,她幸福,我认为。只是,那幸福太虚无了,以至于丽贝卡迷失了自己,甚至愿意选择特别的“自杀”方式来追求最后的“胜利”——她的幸福。因此,我感觉到丽贝卡临死前的微笑,除了胜利之外,还有一种难以名状的绝望。看到书中从未出现过的丽贝卡,我认为她还有值得欣慰的地方,曼陀丽最令人压抑恐惧的气氛的制造者——她的忠仆丹弗斯太太。丹弗斯对丽贝卡近乎变态的崇拜,使她对世界没有任何留恋,即使纵火烧尽曼陀丽也在所不惜,当然,曼陀丽是丽贝卡亲自布置的,石楠花是丽贝卡亲自选定的,丹弗斯不会容忍任何人占据丽贝卡的位置,所以毁了这幢豪苑。丹弗斯对主人的忠诚发挥极致,她唯一的寄托和骄傲都是丽贝卡,丽贝卡真的理解么?书中没有交代,然而我认为,丽贝卡只是依赖和信任这个心腹,她坚信自己的魅力可以使人臣服,她不会懂得人之真情。丹弗斯同样是可怜虫,她最大的享受就是为丽贝卡奉献,她也没有得到过幸福,不曾体会真诚的存在。正是这样固执的可怜人,才使我为之落泪。德温特曾试图相信“一个妻子得有三种美德:教养,头脑和姿色,她三样俱备”,然而小说中的“我”拥有丽贝卡不曾拥有的最重要的美德:真诚。也许因为这样,曼陀丽才会有“我”的存在,黑暗中才会有动人的光明。一场大火结束了《蝴蝶梦》,每个人都从奢华中走出来了,除了丽贝卡。我在梦中又回到了曼陀丽,惨淡阴沉的景象中我又找到了石楠,它的根部被灌木紧紧地缠绕,虚伪和浮华被葬在了地下,我看到的,是真诚的重生。

Who is the winner?

When we read a book which written in first person, we usually regard ourselves as the author. We hate what he or she hate and like what he or she like. Rebecca, written by Daphne du Maurier, tells us a story between two completely different women( one is clever, beautiful and dangerous while the other is quiet, honest and ordinary). However, they don’t fight for a man’s love, but for the influence on the man and his all surroundings. The most attractive part is that the dreadful woman is dead at the beginning of the story, but not her powerful effect. She is Rebecca, the elegant and flamboyant first Mrs.DeWinter. She is described utterly evil, not just because she is unfaithful to Maxim but she has no love and tenderness. Although she has grace, confidence, brains and beauty, she is morally rotten, using her charm and beauty to be liked .Rebecca is a “snake” to Ben”, but a lover to Favell. She is admired by Mrs.Danvers, but confused by Frank, disliked by Beatrice and hated by Maxim. Her death is the cleverest tarp she has ever done. She is doomed to death in several months, but she

infuriates Maxim and make him kill her with a purpose to destroy his life. Unfortunately, her death is not the end of the nightmare of Maxim and others. There are her shadows here and there in Manderley: she is always alive in people’s memories. Finally, Mrs.Danvers who deeply admires Rebecca replace her role to fight and set a fire on Manderly that totally destroyed Maxim.

The second Mrs.DeWinter, the teller of the story, is a very quiet and easily frightened person at first. She is quite opposite to Rebecca and feels anything wrong that happens around her is all her fault. Her lack of confidence is part and parcel leading the gap between her and Maxim. She thought that Maxim loved Rebecca and she can never replace her. On the other hand, because of her love to Maxim, she is brave enough to support him. For the storyteller , the most important thing is to make him happy. Knowing that he murdered Rebecca and the crime is in danger of being discovered is less important than her happiness when Maxim told her that he hated Rebecca and opened his heart to her for the first time. The process of the inquiry is her process of growing up. By the end of the novel, she has become a strong character who is able to make decisions and give her own opinions. Although she has defeated the memory of Rebecca, she has lost her original personalities Maxim likes the first sight he saw her.

At the end of the story, it seems that the storyteller has defeated Rebecca, but Mrs.Danvers’ ruining of Manderley makes it uncertain. Because Manderley is the most precious thing in Maxim’s heart, and now he has lost half of his soul. So she only get half of Maxim, the other half of him has gone with Manderley as well as Rebecca.

影片一开头就是一片凄凉的破败景象,转入,出现的是滂湃的海水。男女主人公相识的情节也算是老套,看过《简爱》和《傲慢与偏见》的MM都会知道,英国人好像总是通过这样的方式认识。是的,男主人公麦克西姆很有钱,是曼德利庄园的主人,然后认识了作为范霍夫太太私人伴游的“我”,就是琼.芳登扮演的女主人公。然后就是两个人相爱,要分离,最后麦克西姆在“我”离开前向“我”求婚。我觉得这段没什么好看的,琼.芳登的出场很平淡,邻家女孩般乖巧的面容,简单朴实的衣裙。我觉得琼长的不够欧洲,倒是有些东方女性含蓄的魅力。

然后他们结婚了,回到曼德利庄园。要说的是那庄园可真漂亮,好像迪斯尼动画片里住着公主的城堡,然后“我”成了曼德利的女主人。让“我”感到意外的是,这座美丽的庄园里竟然全是一个叫丽贝卡的女人的气息,丽贝卡是麦克西姆的前妻,去年死于海难。麦克西姆很爱丽贝卡,或者说丽贝卡人见人爱,曼德利到处都是丽贝卡的影子,到处都是绣着“R”的本子、布料、信笺......管家丹佛斯太太是随着丽贝卡一起到曼德利庄园来的,她对丽贝卡有着莫名的崇拜,她甚至把丽贝卡曾经住过的房间依然保持着她遇难那一天的样子,最重要的是“我”觉得丹佛斯太太很不喜欢“我”。丹佛斯太太的每次出场都很精彩,总是悄无声息的出现,再瞬而离开,还有那只貌似英国可卡的长毛狗,安静的趴在大厅里,让整个电影的气氛显得更加诡异。

丽贝卡的无处不在让“我”觉得异常的惶恐,“我”知道麦克西姆还爱着丽贝卡,为了让他开心,“我”决定举办一场化装舞会,丹佛斯太太假意的建议我穿麦克西姆最爱的一套衣服出席。当麦克西姆看到“我”的出现时非常愤怒,原来那是丽贝卡曾经穿过的衣服。“我”跑去质问丹佛斯太太这一段被拍摄的异常惊悚,气氛被希区柯克剪切的非常紧张,丹佛斯太太那总是面无表情的脸让人觉得胆战心惊,喜欢丹佛斯太太说的那段台词:

你想替代她的位置,你让他娶了你。我看见了他的脸、他的眼睛,就象她死后第一周一模一样。当时我曾经听见他整夜走来走去,一夜又一夜睡不着,想念她,忍受无尽的折磨,因为他失去了她!

你以为你能成为德文特夫人,住在她的房子里,用她的步子行走,用属于她的东西!但是她比你强得多,你无法战胜她——任何人都不会比她强,永远不会!她最后失败了,但打败她的不是男人也不是女人,而是大海。

为什么你不走,为什么你不离开曼德利庄园?他不需要你„„他进入了他的回忆。他不爱你,他只想重新单独跟她在一起。你留下来做什么呢,你活着做什么呢,不是吗?

最精彩的是丹佛斯太太用温柔的,几乎是催眠的语调说:

向下看,这很容易,不是吗?你为什么不跳,为什么不。跳吧,跳下去,不要害怕„„

那语调真是让人毛骨悚然,我甚至会担心那个“我”真的会跳下去。然后就是一个意外的发现,丽贝卡遇难的船只和她的遗体找到了。在“我”的追问下,麦克西姆告诉“我”丽贝卡其实是一个放荡成性的女人,在新婚的第四天他终于知道了丽贝卡的真面目,但估计贵族的身份和地方,麦克西姆没有与丽贝卡离婚,丽贝卡继续她放浪形骸的生活,甚至与她的表哥苟且。直到有一天丽贝卡告诉麦克西姆她怀孕了,当然,没有人知道这孩子是谁的,麦克西姆大怒,可丽贝卡却意外的跌倒,头部撞击硬物死亡。麦克西姆将尸体拖到船上并凿损的船只,造成了海难的假象。可此时,丽贝卡的表哥却坚持丽贝卡是被谋杀的。为了寻找犯罪东西他们找到了伦敦的丽贝卡的私人医生。医生却证实丽贝卡没有怀孕,而是得了癌症。一切真相大白,可丹佛斯太太却无法接受偶像的陨灭,她宁可玉石俱焚,也不愿见到“我”与麦克西姆在一起。所以她点燃了曼德利庄园,自己也死在的庄园中。当然,“我”最终与我深爱的麦克西姆在一起了,只是透过那曼德利上空的大火,我竟看到了丽贝卡像蝴蝶般翩然而逝。蝴蝶一梦再难寻,丽贝卡绚烂的一生也在曼德利庄园变成废墟的同时消亡殆尽。

《蝴蝶梦》如愿的看了,可看过之后却又觉得深深的失落,那感觉像极了《姬黛》结束时给我的感觉。本都是大团圆的结局,到底是什么让我惆怅呢?

《蝴蝶梦》是达芙妮的成名作,发表于1937年。小说自发表以来就以其曲折的情节,细腻的情感描写深受读者喜爱。2005年,在英国浪漫小说家协会评出浪漫经典的五部英语小说中,《蝴蝶梦》就与《傲慢与偏见》,《简爱》名列其中,其他两部是《呼啸山庄》和《飘》。达芙妮在小说创作上继承了哥特小说的方法,因而她的小说也被蒙上了一层悬疑,恐怖的色彩。在《蝴蝶梦》中,悬疑色彩主要取决于吕蓓卡这个人物形象的塑造。吕蓓卡在小说一开始已经死去,并不曾真实出现,但是她短暂的一生却给她周围活着的人留下了深刻的影响,好像魂魄不曾离开她熟悉的地方。吕蓓卡超强的影响力一度曾经成为小说另一主人公“我”感情的障碍,影响着“我”的婚姻,造成了众多猜疑和悬念,但也正是吕蓓卡让“我”的婚姻经受了考验,并且使夫妻双方明白了婚姻的真谛—平等,真诚和勇于献身。作者在吕蓓卡身上赋予了两重意义:一是吕蓓卡本身的故事是对当时男权社会的批判;二是通过吕蓓卡和“我”对婚姻的不同态度和结局,表达了作者自己的婚姻观。对于吕蓓卡的描述可以分为两部分:一是她生前极度绚烂的人生游戏,另一部分是她死后诡异的影响。

吕蓓卡在小说中的形象主要通过众人的追忆形成的。吕蓓卡出身贵族,集聪明和美丽于一身.她忠实的仆人丹尼丝描述她小时候“她那时模样就很迷人,像画上的美人儿那样妩媚。她打男人身边走过,他们就会转过头直勾勾的瞅着她她心里很明白。”小小年纪便以懂得美貌对于女子的重要,“我长大了会出落的很美,是吗,丹尼?’ 仆人弗兰克认为“她是我有生以来见过的最美女人。” 教主夫人“她确实是个出众的美人。”“她真是个尤物。”吕蓓卡除了美丽聪明的外表她还很能干,把曼陀丽整饬成远近闻名的地方。曼陀丽的花园,灌木丛和幸福谷的石南花,家具以及吟游诗人的画廊都是吕蓓卡的杰作。她懂得每个人的心理,善于左右逢源,取得每个人的喜欢,使人们完全相信她,崇拜她。 “她长得那么美,才华出众,又会迎合别人,所以连当时那位人们最难讨好的老奶奶,也从一开始就喜欢她。奶奶对我说: “一个妻子得有三种美德:教养,头脑和姿色。她三样具备。除却她的美丽能干外,吕蓓卡个性极强。“没人制服得了她她一向我型我素,爱怎么就怎么,她周身的力气,真不下于一头狮子”。吕蓓卡在十六岁那年曾经制服了一匹烈马“那匹马已经遍体鳞伤,血迹斑斑,满嘴白沫,不住打哆嗦”。与她个性极强相伴的是她强烈的征服欲望,“我要看着他们先进地狱。” “我爱怎么生活就怎么生活,全世界的人都站出来也拦不住我”。吕蓓卡对男性的摆布在童年时代即已经开始了,“她父亲任她摆布”,她在十四岁时和自己的表兄同乘一辆车,因为表兄试图抓缰绳,她就把他敲下了马车。她在婚后的第五天与迈克西姆达成协议,她来管家,但是她的私生活不受干涉。在管理好曼陀丽的同时,她把男人当作猎物一样来猎取,连迈克西姆的姐夫未能幸免成为猎物,甚至仆人弗兰克也受到挑逗。“除了她自己,她谁也不爱。”把吕蓓卡疯狂的病态的征服欲望揭示出来,甚至在身患绝症,时日无多的情况下设下圈套,激怒迈克西姆让他冲动中杀死自己。使迈克西姆处于她的摆布中却无力自拔,背上了沉重的心理罪责。
