在拜读了西班牙文艺复兴时期最杰出的现实主义小说家塞万提斯的代表作《堂吉诃德》后，我感受颇深。

作品主人公堂吉诃德是一个不朽的典型人物。书中写到，这个瘦削的、面带愁容的穷乡绅，由于爱读骑士文学，入了迷，竟然骑上一匹瘦弱的老马驽骍难得，找到了一柄生了锈的长矛，戴着破了洞的头盔，要去游侠，除强扶弱，为人民打抱不平。他雇了附近的农民桑丘·潘沙做侍从，骑了驴儿跟在后面。堂吉诃德又把邻村的一个挤奶姑娘想象为他的女恩主，给她取了名字叫杜尔西内娅·台尔·托波索。于是他以一个未受正式封号的骑士身份出去找寻冒险事业，他完全失掉对现实的感觉而沉入了漫无边际的幻想中，唯心地对待一切、处理一切，因此一路闯了许多祸，吃了许多亏，闹了许多笑话，却一直执迷不悟。他把乡村客店当作城堡，把老板当成寨主，硬要老板封他为骑士。店老板乐得捉弄他一番，拿记马料账的本子当《圣经》，用堂吉诃德的刀背在他肩膀上着实打了两下，然后叫一个补鞋匠的女儿替他挂刀。受了封的骑士堂吉诃德走出客店后，把旋转的风车当作巨人，冲上去和它大战一场，弄得遍体鳞伤。他又把羊群当作军队，冲上去厮杀，被牧童用石子打肿了脸面，打落了牙齿。桑丘·潘沙一再纠正他，他总不信。他又把一个理发匠当成武士，给予迎头痛击，把胜利取得的铜盆当做有名的曼布里诺头盔。他把一群罪犯当作受迫害的绅士，杀散了押役救了他们，要他们到村子里找女恩主去道谢，结果反被他们打成重伤。他的朋友想了许多办法才把他弄回家去。在第二卷中，他继续去冒险，又吃了许多苦头，弄得一身病。他的一位朋友参孙·卡拉斯科假装成武士把他打翻了，罚他停止游侠一年。堂吉诃德到死前才悔悟。

主人公堂吉诃德这个人物的性格具有两重性：一方面他是神志不清、疯狂而可笑的，但又正是他代表着高度的道德原则、无畏的精神、英雄的行为、对正义的坚信以及对爱情的忠贞等等。他越疯癫，造成的灾难也越大，几乎谁碰上他都会遭到一场灾难，但他的优秀品德也越鲜明。桑丘·潘沙本来为当“总督”而追随堂吉诃德，后看无望，仍不舍离去也正为此。堂吉诃德是可笑的，但又始终是一个理想主义的化身。他对于被压迫者和弱小者寄予无限的同情。从许多章节中，我们都可以找到他以热情的语言歌颂自由，反对人压迫人、人奴役人。也正是通过这一典型，塞万提斯怀着悲哀的心情宣告了信仰主义的终结。这一点恰恰反映了文艺复兴时期旧的信仰解体、新的信仰尚未提出的信仰断裂时期的社会心态。

在当时黑暗腐朽、贫富悬殊的社会里，作者为我们塑造了一个“不畏强暴，不恤丧身”、立志扫尽人间不平的堂吉诃德。小说中的主人翁生活在资本主义兴起时期，充满着崇高的理想主义精神，总幻想扫除一切社会不平，这就与客观现实造成了冲突，这一冲突既具有喜剧性又具有悲剧性。这个犯了时代错误的堂吉诃德却要在现实生活中恢复过了时的骑士精神，因而使得他成了一个夸张的、滑

稽的、喜剧性的角色。但是作者在种种场合中，反复突出他醉心铲除人间罪恶的这一特点，从而展示出他性格中的高贵品质，即为了追求正义、理想而置身危险于不顾，愿为社会而不惜牺牲自己的生命。因此与单纯的喜剧性角色不同，他又是一个带有悲剧因素的人物，一个有着崇高精神境界的“疯子”！

《The Loons 英文读后感》

On Theme of The Loons

The Loons, one of the well-known fictions of Margaret Laurence, portrays the living conditions of the protagonist, Piquette Tonnerre, who is an Indian girl. On the other hand, we can find that the loons are mentioned several times in the story, which echoes the title. As far as I am concerned, the loons and the growth of Piquette serve as two clues from which two branch themes are expressed respectively.

Piquette is a plain-looking girl coming from a humble family. She has to do family chores and cannot attend school regularly. She limps because of tuberculosis of the bone. The father of the narrator Vanessa is the doctor of Piquette. He took Piquette with the families to Diamond Lake for a vacation because of sympathy for her. Piquette was an unsociable and mocking girl and sensitive to the topic of woods and loons mentioned by Vanessa. During the vacation they remained ill at ease with each other. Four years later Vanessa got startled at Piquette’s great change when meeting her occasionally n a café. She became much more beautiful and opener than before but seemed to being living a disordered life. She blew about her approaching marriage with her handsome boy friend. In

the end when Vanessa because a college student Piquette died with her children in a fire.

From the contrast of the different lives of the two girls we can find the huge gap between the minorities and the mainstream of Canadian society. Indians were the aborigines of the Continent of North America before Europeans immigrating here and driving them away to secluded areas. So Indians remain discriminated against by the white-dominated society. They are of humble status and cannot adapt themselves to the mainstream culture. Piquette is just a representative of those present living condtions of them.

In the story the narrator tells us about her two experiences of listening the cry of loons. Once during the vacation Vanessa listened to them with her father. The crying of the loons was described as ululating, plaintive and mocking. She went to the Diamond Lake again after hearing about the death of Piquette. However, the loons disappeared because more cottages were built and more people came in. The habitats of the loons were destroyed by human beings gradually and they might die out sooner and lataer.

The loons are the symbol of nature as well as ecosystem, and the extinction of loons reflects the ecological crisis caused in the process of human civilization as well as the predatory exploitation human beings have exerted to nature.

The author conveys great concern for the harmonious coexistence of human beings with nature and equality between people of different races, sexes or classes by criticizing the relationship of dominating and being dominated between human beings and nature as well as their fellows. What the loons and Piquette have in common is that they represent the culture and civilization of minorities. In the modern society of multiculturalism different kinds of cultures and different races are treated unequally. To reach the goal of harmonious development we human beings have to protect and respect nature and minority groups. This is just what the author wants to convey to us.

This winter holiday, I read a book called "the old man and the sea" classic. I benefit a lot from it.

This book is about: an old fisherman, he is called the San Diego. The old fisherman for eighty-four straight days at sea without fish. At first, there is a called manolin told the boy and he a out to sea, but after forty days without a fish the boy was parents arrange to another vessel, because they think that children follow the old man not good luck. Eighty-five days, the old man, the ship is far out in the morning, he unexpectedly caught a larger than the ship QiangYu. The old man and the fish tries to two days, finally fork it in it. But the injured QiangYu at sea for a trace of the bloody left, attract numerous sharks for crazy. The old man struggling to fight with sharks, but back to harbour, QiangYu left with a huge skeleton, the old man to a head of ducking out on land. Children come to see the old man, he thought that the old man was not defeated. That afternoon, the old man in the shack asleep, a dream he saw the lion.

After reading this book, I have a lot of feeling. Especially the old fisherman San Diego, his strong, generous, kind, loving, even in the life of the defeated in the battle, in the face of the inevitable fate, he is still strong in spirit, is "butch". He faced great pressure in the outside world and bad luck strikes, the strong and unyielding, still ahead, or even deadly opponents, though he failed, but keep the human dignity and courage, with the winner of poise.

This story reflects the people in "full of violence and death of real life" expression comes out of courage. 永远无法忘记那个苍老瘦削的高个子老头，骑着一匹瘦弱的老马，手持一柄生锈的长矛，戴着破了洞的头盔，身后追随着又矮又胖的仆人。每每拿起《唐吉诃德》，八个字就出现在我的脑海---“可笑，可叹，可悲，可敬”

说唐吉诃德可笑是因为他总是脱离现实，活在自己的世界。他把乡村客店当做城堡，把老板当做城堡的主人，硬要老板封他为骑士。他甚至把旋转的风车当做巨人，与之大战一场。把羊群当做军队，冲上前去与之厮杀。他无厘头的想法和滑稽的行为无不证明他沉溺在骑士的世界。也许当时许多和他一样热爱骑士小说的读者在嘲笑这位可怜人的同时，也是在嘲笑自己。说唐吉诃德可笑还有另一方面的原因，他不懂与时世接轨，没有意识到骑士时代的过去，甚至对于为他专门设下的圈套仍一心一意的一头栽进去，在贵族们把唐吉诃德当做玩物戏弄他时，我又感觉的他是可叹的。

如果唐吉诃德不是一个落没的贵族，如果他就是一个公爵，是不是他就可以真的带动骑士精神的传承。无疑唐吉诃德荒唐的做法是可笑的，可他的初衷、他所向往的骑士精神就完全不可取吗？贵族们在过着奢华生活的同时，以一种高姿态驾临普通人的生活，把一些人当做玩物一样，完全没有体察和了解底层人民的生活。而唐吉诃德却告别舒适的家安逸的生活，一心只想解救受苦的人民，他体贴人民大众的生活，与桑丘一起行侠仗义。众人皆醉我独醒，这就是唐吉诃德 唐吉诃德的人生又是可悲的。在小说下部的末尾，唐吉诃德如回光返照般回到现实，他后悔自己以前老是读那些该死的骑士小说，他也承认那些疯狂的行为是他不清醒时做的混帐事，没有人能理解他，即使是一路陪伴着他的仆人桑丘也不能。我想无数次午夜梦回，是否他也会怀疑自己做的究竟是对是错，也许他最后的悔悟只是对现实的妥协，可悲的是理想最终无法战胜现实。

值得可敬的是唐吉诃德对待理想的态度，是认真，是坚持，是自我，更是一心一意。即使一路上有过别人的不解和嘲笑，即使一路受过无数的伤，可是他依然坚持着行侠仗义的目标。而我们现在的一些人在逐梦的路上稍稍受到一点挫折就开始放弃理想，有的甚至自暴自弃对自己不自信。有时我们更要学习唐吉诃德坚持不懈的对待事情。

封建的骑士时代早已远去，可是随着一起离去的应该是腐朽的制度，我们更应该要求骑士精神的回归，抛弃骑士文学中的做作，像唐吉诃德一样追寻内心的朴实与真诚。

Recently,I have just finished reading a famous novel written by Margaret mitchell—“Gone with the Wind”,which is one of the most popular works among American novels.It took the auther about 10 years to finish this great novel,the only novel in her life. The story happened during the Civil War eve.Scarlett O'Hara,a 16-year-old girl,who was living in Tala manor in Georgia,was loving her neighbor Ashley Wilkes.However,after the war have broken out, Ashley Wilkes married his yonger cousin Melanie. Scarlett was so angry that she decided to marry a man she didn‟t really love---- Charles Hamilton.Not long after that, Charles Hamilton joined the Army and died of illness in the war.So Scarlett had to act as a widow.Afterwards,at a donating dance party,Scarlett is acquainted with a captain named Rhett Butler. Then the flames of war approached Atlanta.Everyone was busy leaving away from the war.Scarlett managed to escape from Atlanta with the help of captain Rhett.Having come back to Tala manor,Scarlett made up her mind to rally her homeland at any cost when she saw that the former manor had been ruined.Later,her second husband died in the fight,she was a widow again.Durling that time, Rhett had been loving Scarlett sincerely and warmly.Seeing that Rhett could help her rally the manor,Scarlett married

him.Although Rhett had similar characteristic attracting her,Scarlett still loved Ashley.Later,their only daughter died accidently,Rhett left Scarlett sorrowly.And then Scarlett realized that Rhett was the only one who could fall in love with her.

The novel takes the US Civil War as the background.It takes Scarlett‟s individual activity as the thread.The book show us a tragic love story .A couple who could have a perfect future,but finnally go in opposite direction.As a matter of fact,their charactristics have decided their tragic result inevitably.We feel sorry about the end because we are looking forward to a perfect end,just like Scarlett and Rhett.In fact,ferfect is always a excessive damand.

I affirm Rhett.He brings excitement to Scarlett‟s life and encourages her impulse to change and succeed.Like Scarlett,he goes after what he wants and refuses to take „no‟ for an answer.He is humorous,intelligent and cynical with a hint of treason.He is really a respectable man.I think he finnally left because of love .Otherwise,he couldn‟t have gone without hesitation.

Ashley Wilkes is the foil to Rhett‟s dark, realistic opportunism.If there was no Civil War,he is surely a nobility of grace and charm.But history cannot be changed.He bocame a victim of the war.His era was gone with the defeat of the war.At the same time,we cannot deny the

fact that he had a chear understanding about reality,which just contribute to his tragedy.

In this book,what I appreciate most is not Melanie‟skindness or Rheet‟s dedication and patience,but Scarlett‟s courage to throw her long-standing morality and tradition whe faced with diffiiculties.At the beginning of the war,she didn‟t care about this.In her world are endless dinner parties and dance parties.In her body are her father‟s brave Irish blood and her mother‟s noble French pure blood.She had a vast farm as her home.She had hundreds of slaves.This is Scarlett.,a member of noblity,proud and different.However,the war changed everything.Her mother died of illness.Her father become silent and the farm was nearly deserted.Even food became a big problem.All the pressure was put on Scarlett‟s shoulder.She must feed a family of 9 people in it.What a big difference of level.If all this happened to someone else,he or she may choose to escape.On the contrary,Scarlett choose to face the change of life bravely.How can we not admire her courage of to change herself.Life is like a mountain.The road can‟t be completely smooth.When we fall down from the peak,we may get hert ,we may get disappointed,we may feel despair.But if you want to survive,you must stand up to face it.

It is obvious that <<Gone with the wind>> is really a good book,even if a long time has passed away,it is still suitable for today‟s

society.It is of great importance to change ourselves,change our value even our thoughts when our life chages.

On the other hand,I think there is no real perfect in the world.Everybody has his shortcomings.It is necessary for us to learn to forgive others‟ faults.If we keep good-tempered,Ibelieve there will be more comedy and less tragedy.
