环保教育使英语课堂更加丰富多彩

环境问题是当今世界各国所面临的重大问题，全球性的资源和环境危机，直接威胁人类的生存和发展。从我们现行PEP版所涉及的教学内容来看，只要我们留意观策，有很多的教学内容中都蕴含着环境教育的素材。作为英语教师的我们，只要适当地挖掘和延伸教材中含有的环境信息，巧妙结合英语教学与环境教育，使二者在英语课堂中互为依托，互取所长，各自发挥其优点，这样一来既达到英语教学的目的又激发了学生保护环境，改造环境的意愿。在英语教学中渗透环境教育，可以从下面的一些途径来进行：

一、在英语课堂教学中培养学生爱护环境的情感 教材中所选的教学内容包含很多与日常生活息息双关的素材，与学习实际十分接近、密切联系的信息。如在教学中，从kangaroo （袋鼠）, turtle（乌龟） , frog （青蛙） , fish （鱼）, monkey （猴子）这一系列的动物在生存中大自然赋予他们生存的天赋（Everyone has his own gift ！）也可以引用相同的方法来引导学生，由于环境的污染导致他们生存的天赋在污染的生活中难以发挥而迫临灭绝，从而让学生在激烈的讨论过程中都表现得义愤填膺，纷

纷表示为了我们美好的家园、美满的生活，一定要爱护环境，阻止一切破坏环境的行为。在这种受保护的环境和被破坏的环境教学中不但提高了学生的学习兴趣，还增长了学生爱护环境的意识，从而有助于教学目标的达成，真可以说是一石二鸟。

二、在校园环境中营造“爱护环境”的语言氛围

精心布置校园,学校要营造一个全方位的视读环境,让爱护环境的英语学习活动从课堂延伸到整个校园,把学生的接受性语言技能从课堂内走向课堂外。在校园内的公众场所和植物园力所能及的用英语标上植物名称或者爱护环境、爱护绿化、注重环保的中英对照的劝告语和标语牌：如在草坪边标上: Don’t step on me ,I’m your good friend!（我是你的好朋友，不要把你的脚踩在我身上”或者Keep off the Grass (勿踏草地)的标语牌、在教学大楼的楼梯的Entrance(入口)和Exit(出口)的墙壁上用有机玻璃板标上：No spitting(禁止吐痰)；这样一来，和谐、轻松、民主的校园氛围的营造,激活学生的学习英语的热情,坚定学生学习英语的意志,进而形成积极的爱护环境，保护环境的动机；把学生对英语学习的内在心理需要调动起来,调节师生关系,增进情感交流的同时增进师生爱护环境的意识。

三、在课外活动中增强学生爱护环境的意识

在英语教学中，有效的利用课外活动能促进学生环境教

育意识的形成。我校英语科有举办手抄报、剪贴报、看图写话比赛、看图说话比赛、情景对话比赛等一系列学科比赛活动的传统。让学生充分发挥联想，利用废弃的旧年历、旧挂历来构思、绘画丰富多彩的、图文并茂的环保内容。这样通过一系列自己亲力亲为的动手操作的学科活动，既激发了学生热爱自然的热情，增强了学生的环保意识，又有效地培养了学生良好的行为习惯，形成了良好的环保素养，从而使环保教育成为人类自身与自然关系的一项具有深远意义的战略转变。

总而言之，开展环保教育，是每一位教育工作者义不容辞的责任。在英语教学活动中，只要我们教师具有环境教育的理念，在教育教学充分挖掘教材内容与环境教育之间的联系，利用两者之间的结合点，努力做个环保有心人，使学生的环保意识得到进一步提高，为英语教学和培养学生的环境素质添砖加瓦。

寓环保教育于英语教学之中

21世纪是以绿色文明为主题的世纪，进入新世纪，如何实现社会经济的可持续发展，关键在于经济发展与人口、资源、环境的协调。保证资源有效利用，减少废弃物的排放和环境污染，是实现可持续发展的必不可少的前提。因此，对学生进行环保基础知识教育，培养学生的环保意识，显得尤为重要。对学生进行环保教育，要联系英语教学的具体实际，可以寓环保教育于课堂词汇教学、课文教学、课外活动等教学活动之中.

一、寓环保教育于词汇教学中

词汇教学是英语教学的重要环节之一，把环保教育贯穿渗透到词汇教学中。如教学lion（狮子） panda （熊猫）elephant（大象） tiger（老虎） monkey（猴子） deer（鹿） snake（蛇） fox（狐狸） bear（熊）等动物的词汇时，使学生认识熊猫是仅生存在中国的濒危动物之一，我国特别重视其保护，设立了专门的保护区。像孟加拉虎、象等一些濒临灭绝的动物，世界各国都采取了有效的保护措施。只不过我们常能见到的动物，可能是在动物园中，甚至生活在笼子里，为什么不让它们自由自在地生活在它们的家园里呢？从这些词汇教学中，可以教育学生爱护动物，保护生态环境，

思考人与动物，人与自然如何和谐相处，共同生存发展等问题。

二、寓环保教育于课文教学中

英语的课文教学活动也可融入环保教育的内容。在Planting trees一课时，告诉学生美国森林覆盖率在急剧下降，中国不能再步其后尘，因而，创建西北防护林带——绿色万里长城，防止沙漠化，由此给学生提出了一个问题：How to plant a tree?（如何植树？）学生找到答案，就可自己动手植树。保护环境爱护它，才能落实在行动上。

三、寓环保教育于课外活动中

课外英语活动是课堂教学的延伸，可以把英语知识，用于实践，使学生在玩中学，学中找到乐趣，既增强了学英语的兴趣，又培养了环保意识，如给校园花坛、草坪制作英语的环保标语： Take good care of environment!(爱护环境！) Don 't harm the flowers and trees! (不要攀折花木！) Keep off the grass! (勿踏草地)！在室内可以张贴： Keep clean!(保持清洁！) No smoking!(别抽烟！) No spitting!(禁止吐痰！)Don’t throw refuse (别乱扔垃圾！)Don’t throw paper! (勿扔纸屑！)Don’t spit up on the floor! (别随地吐痰！)等英语标语。使学生在运用中学英语，在学英语中学习环保知识，从小事做起，爱护环境，保护生态。
