Almost all cultures celebrate the end of one year and the beginning of another in some way. Different cultures celebrate the beginning of a new year in different ways, and at different times on the calendar.

In Western countries, people usually celebrate New Year at midnight on December 31st-January 1st. I never saw my father home from work late or ill, nor did I ever see my father take a “night out with the boys”. He had no bobbies but just took care of his family.

In my spoken English class, I asked the students about their impressions of their school life. To my surprise, many of them were disappointed after their high school lives. They were having trouble finding things to do in the free time in the university. When I ask them to talk about their high school lives, many of them told me they got up at six in the morning and studied until ten at night. Those of this time were spent at school, doing a large mount of homework to help them prepare for the university entrance exams. Once they entered university, in my opinion, the students shouldn’t spend all their time studying. They should also take part in some afterschool activities, so they should learn to make plans for their time outside of the class between sports and clubs. What’s more, they should spend some time watching TV and chatting with their roommates. These activities are useful in helping them prepare for their future. But what made me most surprised was that many of them did not seem particularly happy about their new freedom, as they have so many choices. They felt that no matter what they were doing, they should be doing something else. That’s why they were not happy. To those students, my advice was, get used to it and learn to make decisions for yourselves.

The idea of what shaking the head means is not always the same in different countries. Maybe some visitors would be surprised when they first came to India. When they talked to an Indian, he would often shake his head. The visitors might think that the Indian did not like what they said. But in fact, they would be completely wrong. Indians always shake their heads when they talk to others. It does not have the same meaning as our “No”. If someone wants to visit India, he would say he should know this, or it will give him some trouble. One day, a foreign officer went to India on business. He hired a car and an Indian to drive it. When he told his driver to send him to his office, the Indian shook his head at once. The officer said again, and the driver shook his head again. 学生在具体语境中的词汇辨析能力，语言的交际能力即情景交际，对语法知识点的考查侧重考几大时态，情态动词，宾语从句等。难度与前两年基本持平。

（三） 完形填空 1、考查方式固定：一篇300字左右的短文，15个小题，满分15分。

2、选材多为与生活很接近的文章，如：日常生活故事，名人励志故事和社会热点。 3、考点：动词辩词一直是考察的重点，约占50%，此外名词、形容词、副词的辨析也是必考项，所占比重每年有所浮动。

（四） 阅读理解

1. 阅读理解文章不外乎三种类型记叙文、应用文、说明文，总词量也控制在700-800 之

间。阅读理解板块占试卷总分的25%。是最容易拉开差距的部分。 2. 应用文相对简单是必须拿到分数的题目。

3. 细节决定成败。阅读理解考察细节在50%-60%之间，要求学生能够联系上下文抓住细

节，通过适当的练习也是比较容易得分的。 （五）词与短语选择填空

性强，且具备一定的逻辑性，考生结合上下文再稍作分析才可得出正确答案。
