Madame Curie(居里夫人), the youngest of the five children, was born in Warsaw, Poland in 1867. Marie Curie’s maiden name was Manya. Old age may not sound exciting. But recent findings offer good news for older people and people worried about getting older.

Researchers found that people become happier and experience less worry after they reach the age of 50. In fact, they say by the age of 85, people are happier with their life than when they were 18 years old.

The findings came from a survey of more than 340,000 adults between the ages of 18 and 85 in the United States. The Gallup Organization questioned them by telephone. The researchers asked questions about emotions like happiness, sadness and worry. They also asked about mental or emotional stress.

Arthur Stone in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Science at Stony Brook University in New York led the study. His team found that levels of stress were highest among adults between the ages of 22 and 25, but dropped sharply after people reach their fifties.

执信中学

1、每次考试的难度不尽相同,但每年每个学校考入省市重点高中的人数一般比较稳定,因此,年级排名比成绩更具参考价值。“值得注意的是,要看的并不是你所在的初中往年进入执信的人有多少,而是要看达到执信分数线的人有多少。”2、执信中学提供给高一新生400个床位,能满足一半学生的住宿需求。陈民说,根据往年的情况,400个床位能基本满足学生需求。“只有在填报住宿人数超过400人,且分数线又全部高于执信录取分数线,住宿生和非住宿生的分数才会有区别,但往年我们从未遇到这种情况。稳妥来看,考生住得确实太远,可以填报住宿。其他考生可以在录取后再提出申请,学校会按照从远到近的顺序安排。”

广雅中学

1、今年广雅中学岭南班将首次进入中考提前独立批招生100人。此外,学校在课程设置上将有更多创新,不仅开始试水走班制,而且还会为有理化生特长学生提供独立的实验室。2、今年广雅共招生832人,除了100个“岭南班”计划外,还有博雅试验班(含1个数理创新班)和国际班,其中试验班为校内选拔,学生自愿报名,时间约在7月中旬。

广州市第二中学
