I have a dream today.

I have a dream that one day every vally shall be exalted, every hill and mountain shall be made low, the rough places will be made plain, and the crooked places will be made straight, and the glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together.

Wow, what a dream it has been for Martin Luther King. But the changing world seems telling me that people gradually get their dreams lost somehow in the process of growing up, and sometimes I personally find myself saying goodbye unconsciously to those distant childhood dreams.

However, we meed dreams. They nourish our spirit; they represent possibility even when we are dragged down by reality. They keep us going. Most successful people are dreamers as well as ordinary people who are not afraid to think big and dare to be great. When we were little kids, we all dreamed of doing something big and splashy, something significant. Now what we need to do is to maintain them, refresh them and turn them into reality. However, the toughest part is that we often have no ideas how to translate these dreams into actions. Well, just start with concrete objectives and stick to it. Don’t let the nameless fear confuse the eye and confound our strong belief of future. Through our talents, through our wits, through our endurance and through our creativity, we will make it.

Hold fast to dreams, for if dreams die, life is a broken-winged bird that cannot fly. Hold fast to dreams, for when dreams go, life is a barren field frozen with snow. So my dear friends, think of your old and maybe dead dreams. Whatever it is, pick it up and make it alive from today.

我今天有一个梦想。

我梦想有一天，幽谷上升，高山下降，崎岖之地变平原，曲折之路成坦途。圣光展露，满照人间。

Good afternoon! I’m very glad to stand here and give you a short speech. Today my topic is “Hold fast to dream”. I hope you will like it.

“Dream is the beacon. Without dream, there is no secure direction; Without dream, there is no life.” Such is the remark has been made by Leo Tolstoy. This remark has been shared by more and more people. So we can see dream is important for us and we not only need to have dreams but also need to hold fast them.

When we were little kids .We all have dreams. They nourish our spirit. They represent possibility even when we are dragged down by reality, they keep us going .Now what we need to do is to maintain them, turn them into reality and start with concrete objectives and stick to it. Through our talents .Through our endurance and through our creativity, just do it we will make it.

Hold fast to dream, no matter what will be happen. Make dreams alive and just do it ,make dreams come ture.

What stay with you from your college is the part of your education you hardly ever since notice at the time .its the expectation and examples around you, the ideals you believe in, and the friends you make. We have shared experience of a time that could never come again.When you are old and gray, and look back on your life, you will want to be proud of what you have done. The source of that pride will not be the things you have acquired and the recognition you have received. It will be the lives you have touch and the things you have made. Life is too short to go through it without caring deeply about something .Death is the destination we all share, no one has ever escaped it .If you live each day as if it was your last, someday you will most certainly be right.

We must have the courage to follow our heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. everything else is secondary .Your intelligence your capacity for hard work, the education you have eared and received , gives you the unique states ,and unique responsibilities .There are a lot of people in our lives who know something about the power of the hope. Don not we? You are the hope of this nation .Everything great that happens in this world began with a dream .You have been invested with far more personal power to customize your life ,to make more free choices about how to live than was ever thought possible.

Will you stand in them with humility and compassion and integrity and courage? Every day and every experience of your life will give you a chance to make that choice. Belief and conviction ----it may make for a personal mission statement ,but standing alone not translated into action ,it means very little to everyone else ,particularly to those for whom you have those concerns . If you carry with the values and beliefs that you can make a difference in your own life .first and foremost ,and then you can keep going .It is an approach of life ,a quality of mind and a quality of heart ,a willingness to follow

A man must have a soul, a spirit capable of compassion and sacrifice and endurance.

there are indeed some very special qualities that distinguish all people -----and help them stand out in today’s competitive arena .At some point ,something in life is going to eat you inside .it could be anger ;it could be guilt ; it could be past hurts or some other strain of soul bacteria. If you can summon the courage, and you will have them, and if you can remember what good are you to anyone if you are miserable, I know for sure you are responsible for your happiness and you are responsible for your happiness and you are responsible for the energy you bring to everything.

you may have setbacks ,and you may have failures ,but you are not done -----you are not even getting started ,not by a long shot . The biggest

obstacle to getting there will be a fear that you have carried with you since childhood ----the fear of humiliation, of embarrassment, of ridicule. Be prepared to fail as well as to success, because it is failure not success that defines your character. Your best laid plans will be consumes by obstacle. Your excellent ideas will be peppered with flaws. You will make mistakes that will shatter your confidence .you will make compromises that will test your convictions. You will find that there is rarely a clear and direct path to any or your vision .and you will find that you will have to readjust again and again. And there may be times when you wonder whether it’s all worth it .and there may be moments when you just want to quit. We need our daring, we need our enthusiasm, we need our energy, we need our imagination. Sometimes life hit you in the head with a brick, your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. Life take its own turns, makes its own demands, writes its own story .and along the way, we start to realize we are not the author.But never let setbacks of fear dictate the course of your life .hold on to the possibility and push beyond the fear .hold on to the hope that brought you here today, the hope of laborers and immigrants, settlers, whose blood and sweat built this community and made it possible for you to sit in these seats .

Don’t give up your dreams, even when you are temporarily defeated or denied. Keep your dreams .Some of the most devastating things that happen to you will teach you most .Perseverance and hard work will see you through the tough times. Rock bottom is the solid foundation on which you can rebuild your life. You will endure all of this negative thinking and the more negative the thinking get , and the more negative questions get ,the stronger and the more positive you become ,the stronger you become inside.it can help you endure by lifting your heart , by reminding you of the courage and the honor and the hope and pride and the compassion and pity and sacrifice which have been the glory of my past .

The knowledge that you have emerged wiser and stronger from setbacks means that you are, ever after, secure in your ability to survive. you will never truly know yourself ,or the strength of your relationships , until both have been tested by adversity. Life is difficult , and is complicated ,and beyond anyone’s control ,and the humility to know that will enable one to survive its vicissitude .We begin to understand that life is ours to live ,but not ours to waste ,and that we make reward are found in the commitment we make with our whole courses that earn our sacrifice. Its cumulative, it depends and expends with each day that you give your best ,each day that you give back and contribute to the life of your community and your nation .

All of this will happen because of your dream, even though other people told you that those dreams were bogus and you are crazy, but you onto my

dreams.

Talent and intelligence never yet inoculated anyone against the caprise of the rates,

but it’s your passion regardless of whether they lead to fortune and fame. Trust your gut to help you stand proudly in your own shoes your ambition would take you far away from home ,but you would not forgotten where you came from. Every time you celebrate an achievement, be thankful to those who made it possible thank your parents and friends who supported you, thank you professor who are inspirational.

As is tale, so is life; not how long it is, but how good it is, is what matters. Judge yourself not by your accomplishments, but by happiness of the people around you. We generation should choose competition over apathy caring over indifference, vision over myopia, and love over hate. In a world filled with hates, we must still dare to hope. In a world filled with anger, we must still dare to comfort. In a world filled with despair ,we must still dare to dream . And in a world filled with distrust, we must still dare to believe.

Before I make my speech, I would like to tell a story.

There have been a great man, who has experienced all sorts of hardships, but he was a never defeated. This man is short but has left a brilliant page in Chinese history. He is our beloved grandfather Deng. On the road in his life, he has held fast to his dream that he has invested all his efforts and energy in Chinese revolution and construction causes at all times. He has created a thriving and prosperous China with his dedication and adherence to it, what’s more, he has never retreated in the hardest time.

There are several questions reflecting in our hearts. First, after you have experienced plenty of failures, will you decide to abandon? Second, when you feel something unfair, will you decide to escape? Third, after you have encountered a lot of difficulties, will you decide to cower? Will you consider holding the line? Hold fast to your dream. Probably, you will receive an unexpected harvest.

From now on, hold fast to your dream. Though there are a number of difficulties, the principle of competition will still

subsist. If you hold fast to your dream, you will run a unique way. Initially, we were strangers. Now, we become classmates or good friends, what brings together? It’s dream. It moves us beyond our backgrounds, lifts us above our interests and teaches us the meaning that we must persist in, in order to make our common dreams come true.

From now on, hold fast to your dream. We are a group of teenagers with passion, ideality and pursuit, no matter how difficult the way of dream is, only if we hold a beautiful dream, will we become the last winner. Compared to the troubles we have faced, we are tiny. However, we are full of vigor and vitality, desired to explore and discover the unknown world and try to do something we once feared .Seize your dream, then, you will achieve some remarkable things.

From now on, hold fast to your dream. If we treat ourselves sincerely, we will continue to advance in the light of the road. Some stupendous dreams touch a string from generation to generation in spite of time and space. Hold Fast To Your Dreams

Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen. The title of my speech is " Hold Fast To Your Dreams" . An English poet by the name of Allan Houston once wrote in this poem " Dream "

Hold fast to dreams,

For if dreams die,

Life is a broken-winged bird,

That cannot fly.

Hold fast to dreams,

For when dreams go,

Life is a barren field,

Frozen with snow.

Everyone has dreams, it is the desire of everyone. No dreams of life will be empty, no dreams of life as the aircraft lost buoys, ships lost lighthouse, will eventually be eliminated by the community. Everyone has different dreams. Martin Luther King had a dream — it was to have justice for all people. Lincoln had a dream — it was to set the slaves free.I have a dream— it is to be a doctor,a famous doctor, helping the sick and saving their lives. I really hope to see a world where there is no cancer, no Aids, no deadly disease, no one suffering from illness. But this is only a fantasy. What about the reality? There are still many many people who are faced with deadly disease and suffering from constant

pain. There are still many many people living in miserable condition and live miserably. There are still many many people dying of cancer and leaving the beautiful world reluctantly. All those things make me feel sad because I think everyone has the right to live . I want to help the sick and reduce their pain as much as I can. I want to see people cured living

happily with their families and friends after my treatment. So I want to be a doctor ,an angel in white.

When I become a doctor, I will cherish each life regardless of the races, sexes, ages, positions and occupations. I will do every bit to cure the incurable.

As a high school student now,I will seize every chance to study hard,arm myself with knowledge, prepare myself for the future and strive for my dreams. I know that fantasy is something hard to realize, but dream can. I’ll work hard for my dreams, I’ll never give up. To end my speech, I would like to quote MARTIN LUTHER KING: I say to you, my friends, so even though we must face the difficulties of today and tomorrow, I still have a dream. It is a dream deeply rooted in the American dream.

Hold fast to dreams

I have a dream today.

I have a dream that one day every valley shall be exalted, every hill and mountain shall be made low, the rough places will be made plain, and the crooked places will be made straight, and the glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together.

Wow, what a dream it has been for Martin Luther King. But the changing world seems telling me that people gradually get their dreams lost somehow in the process of growing up, and sometimes I personally find myself saying goodbye unconsciously to those distant childhood dreams.

However, we need dreams. They nourish our spirit; they represent possibility even when we are dragged down by reality. They keep us going. Most successful people are dreamers as well as ordinary people who are not afraid to think big and dare to be great. When we were little kids, we all dreamed of doing something big and splashy, something significant. Now what we need to do is to maintain them, refresh them and turn them into reality. However, the toughest part is that we often have no ideas how to translate these dreams into actions. Well, just start with concrete objectives and stick to it. Don’t let the nameless fear confuse the eye and confound our strong belief of future. Through our talents, through our wits, through our endurance and through our creativity, we will make it.

Hold fast to dreams, for if dreams die, life is a broken-winged bird that cannot fly. Hold fast to dreams, for when dreams go, life is a barren field frozen with snow. So my dear friends, think of your old and maybe dead dreams. Whatever it is, pick it up and make it alive from today.

抓牢你的梦想

我今天有一个梦想。

我梦想有一天，幽谷上升，高山下降，崎岖之地变平原，曲折之路成坦途。圣光展露，满照人间。

这对马丁路德金是怎样的一个梦想啊。不过这个变化着的世界似乎在告诉我，在成长的过程中，人们却不知不觉把他们的梦想弄丢了，而我自己也有时会觉得在告别很多童年的梦。

然而，我们是需要梦想的。梦想滋养我们的灵魂，梦想代表着我们被现实拉垮时依然具有的希望。它鼓励我们不断前进。大多数成功人士都是梦想家，同时也是普通人，只是他们敢于梦想敢于成就伟大。当我们还是孩子的时候，我们都梦想过做一番大事业，现在应当做的就是保存好那些梦想，再度恢复它们，并将它们实现。不过最难的是我们通常不知道怎样付诸实施。那么，就从最具体的目标开始，坚持去做吧。不要让那些莫名的恐惧迷惑了我们的双眼，影响了我们对未来的信念。用我们的天资和智慧，用我们的耐力和创造力，我们一定会实现梦想。

抓牢你的梦想，因为如果梦想死亡，生活就成了一只折断翅膀的鸟再也不能飞翔。抓牢你的梦想，因为如果失去梦想，生命就成了一块覆盖着冰雪的贫瘠的冻土。亲爱的朋友们，想想那些过去的或已经死去的梦想吧。不管是什么，重新将它捡起，并从今天开始让它重生。

Change

Leo Tolstoy once said, everyone thinks of changing the world, but no one thinks of changing himself.

He is right. We always have great plans and dreams in our minds… too ready to achieve something grand that changes the world or benefits all of man

kind .For example; we hate pollution and have made up our minds to find new energy sources that keep the environment clean. Yet we still litter on the ground. We complain about traffic jams, so we plan to build more highways to solve the problem, but it never occurs to us that our failure to follow traffic regulations is the leading cause of this situation. We are so concerned that the violence in the media has a bad impact on our children, we urge the government to set laws to protect them. But, do we, as adults, set a good example for our kids? We use nasty words and even spit on the ground in front of them, I dare to say, we harm more!

In my opinion, before we decide to change the world, we had better change ourselves first. As ordinary individuals, we do not have the power to change the world. But we can change our habit of littering, spitting, and cussing, we can respect the environment around us, we must act as good models for our kids.

If each of us does all of these little things, all of us, millions and millions of individuals together, together we will be strong …strong enough to change our world!

So please, the next time you do something, think how your actions influence not only you, but those around you too, especially our children …and perhaps more importantly…our planet!

列夫·托尔斯泰曾说过：每个人都想改变这个世界，但是没有人想到改变自己。 他说的很有道理，我们每个人都心怀伟大时志向，时刻准备去干一番能造福全人类的大事业。比如，我们痛恨环境污染，所以我们下定决心去开发新的更高效更干净的能源来保护我们的环境，但是同时我们却随手乱扔垃圾；我们抱怨大城市的交通堵塞，计划造更多的高速路来解决交通问题，但是我们从来没有想过，如果我们能遵守交通规则话，那么这一问题是不是可以得到很大得缓解呢？我们担心电视电影里面得暴力会对我们得孩子产生不

良的影响，于是我们敦促政府通过立法来保护未成年人，但是我们这些大人又做得怎么样呢？我们为我们的下一代做好了表率吗？我们说粗话，甚至在孩子面前抽烟。不客气地说，我们对孩子的不良影响更多！

在我看来，在我们打算改变这个世界之前，我们最好先改变一下自己。作为一个普通人，我们其实没有改变这个世界的能力，但是我可以改变我们随地扔垃圾，随地吐痰的坏习惯， 我们应该学会去保护环境，我们应该为我们的孩子起好的表率作用。

如果我们每个人都能从小事起，那么千千万万个人力量汇聚在一起，那力量是强大的，足以改变这个世界。

朋友，当您在做某一件事情的时候，请您想一想，您的行为会对您周围的人产生怎样的影响， 因为，您的行为不单单影响到您自己，还有您周围的人，更重要的是我们的孩子…甚至我们的世界。
