Comic strip and welcome to the unit

一、课前预习导学

Objectives: 1.Let the students know something unusual.

2.Make sure the students can use adjectives to express their own

feelings and opinions.

Contents:

Phrases: 1.bright light 2.from Earth to the moon 3.a man in the USA

4.at the same time 5.plant life 6.without lightning

Sentence:

1. It‘s just a plane.

2. It‘s only the light on the plane.

3. It takes about three days to travel from Earth to the moon by rocket.

4. Fish sleep with their eyes open.

1. Show the Ss a picture that can make them feel amazed. Then ask how they

feel? Tell the students the world is full of amazing things. Teach the new

word ‗amazing‘.

2. Show them the pictures on p61. Ask what you can see in the pictures. Help

them answer the questions

一、课前预习导学

一)Teaching objectives

1. To introduce the style of the ghost story

2. To identify specific meaning by scanning the text.

3. To predict meanings of specific words from context.

4. To identify key events and infer general meaning.

二)Background information

This passage tells the story about two girls jumping to the wrong conclusion. It is

written in the third person narrative. Conversation is used to provide realism to

the description of a fearful experience. The story –telling style emphasizes the

sense of reality of the experience presented in the form of an article. It develops

the idea of how something that is quite normal can be perceived as something

abnormal. In this case, a lost cat is mistaken for a ghost.
