Step 1: Activity 1: Work in pairs. Ask and answer questions.

The teacher prepare some school things, ask every pair to choose a

school thing, show the students a model, like this:

--Whose bag is this? Is it yours?

--No, it’s not mine. It’s his.

Give the students two minutes to make the dialogue, then present in

the class.

Activity 2: Complete the sentences with the correct form of the

words from the box.

Give the students three minutes to finish it themselves, then check

the answers together.

Step 3: Match the words from Box A with the words from Box B.

This activity is very easy, so the students can do it together.

Step 4: Around the world---The Internet lost and found

Ask the students read by themselves, then translate one by one, the

teacher explain the language points.

Step 5: Activity 4: Work in pairs.

The teacher prepares some things such as camera, crayons, football,

gloves, mobile phone, wallet, watch and so on.

Student A: Think of three or four things he/she has lost or he/she can

choose from the box. Describe them.

Student B: Think of five or six things you have in your lost and

found office or you can choose from the box. Describe them.

Then ask and answer questions.

Student A: Ask Student B if they’ve got the things you have lost.

Answer questions about details.

Student B: Answer questions about the things Student A has lost.

Ask questions about details.

Give the students five minutes to prepare, then act out in the class.

【教材分析】

本课选自义务教育课程标准实验教学用书(外研社)八年级上册Module8 Unit 2, Around town。本模块以出行旅游为话题,通过大量的语言材料集中展示了问路、指路、对某一区域进行描述的语言表达方式。Unit 2是一篇阅读课文,向学生介绍了英国伦敦的一些名胜古迹。在让学生阅读文章并能找出伦敦著名景点的基础上,强化对某一区域进行描述的语言表达能力。同时,在阅读的基础上进行创造性课堂活动,进行小组讨论和互助。最后,让学生向外来参观者描述大连或自己学校具体位置和路径,既增强爱家乡,爱学校的主人翁意识,又能鼓励学生进行发散性思维,提高语言输出能力。

【理论依据】

八年级学生已经掌握了一定的词汇和语法,具有一定的阅读理解能力和表达能力,因此,对于课堂活动能够积极主动参与。结合八年级学生的学习能力,在本课的教学过程中,力求全面贯彻新课程标准的新要求,在各个环节设计中渗透对学生语言技能,语言知识,情感态度,学习策略和文化意识等五个方面的培养。同时结合青少年年龄特点和好奇心理,设计丰富多彩的有创造性的课堂活动,不但激发他们学习英语兴趣,而且有利于加强青少年对英国文化的理解,培养文化意识。

【教学目标、方法手段】

1.教学目标

(1) 语言知识目标:能够指路、对某一区域进行描述;能够学会一些新的词

汇;通过阅读了解英国伦敦一些名胜古迹。

(2) 语言技能目标:能正确运用阅读策略,高效阅读文章;能够读懂对地图

的描述,读懂对某一地方的描述;能够通过书面表达给别人指路;能够根据地图讲清路线、描述某个地点的位置。

(3) 学习策略:能够将语言学习与实际应用结合起来;问路和指路应该有礼

貌;学习使用地图。

(4) 情感态度:乐于参加应用英语的实践活动,融入老师所设的情景中,乐

于接触并了解异国文化。

(5) 文化意识:了解英国首都伦敦的一些情况。

2.教学重点 、难点及解决方法

本课的重点是读懂对地图的描述,并根据地图描述某个地点的位置,这是应用性很强的技能,在本课的教学过程中,教师要引导学生大量实践,帮助学生熟练地掌握相关语言。本课的难点是培养他们跨文化交际的意识。有效的方法是让

学生去思考、去体验。教师可根据学生的层次选用以下活动:小组讨论互助,图片提示等。

3.教法和学法

采用bottom-up approach和interactive approach。设计有效的“任务型”教学活动,提供真实任务,促使学生获取,处理和使用信息,用英语与他人交流,发展用英语解决实际问题的能力。

4.教学辅助手段

利用计算机和多媒体教学软件,丰富教学内容和形式,提高课堂教学效果;大量生动的图片极大地帮助学生了解英国伦敦的重要建筑,使教学更直观,更生动,更高效。

【教学过程】

1.Lead-in

 让学生看活动3中的图片,判断文章描述的是哪个城市。然后小组活动,结

合活动1中的地图和活动4中的图片,谈论他们知道的伦敦建筑.

 教师提问小组,并让学生到黑板上写下建筑物的名称: square, store,

museum, the National Gallery, Buckingham Palace, the Houses of Parliament, the London Eye, the Tower of London, Big Ben, Tower Bridge.

 教师领读学生已经写到黑板上的本单元重要词汇,分组读,个人读。 (目的:处理生词,导入主题。)

2.Reading

 学生默读课文,阅读后学生自己在地图上标出路线。

 学生以小组形式核对答案。

 教师提问小组. 答案是a.National Gallery b. Buckingham Palace

c .Houses of Parliament d .London Eye e. Tower of London.  学生熟练朗读文章,教师并对学生朗读情况进行点评.

(目的:训练学生读懂指路的指示语;了解伦敦的著名建筑;培养学生看地图的能力.)

3.Writing

 依据活动1的地图,让学生选择一地方为起点,再选择另一地方为终点,描述

路线.

 学生两人一组,交换各自写的文章,确认对方行程的终点在哪里;同时互改,

互评文章.

 教师再两位同学朗读自己的文章,其他同学确认他们的终点.

(目的:训练学生笔头语言表达能力和口头语言表达能力----指路.)

4.Consolidation

 阅读课外材料,在图上填充路线.

 向外地游客描述大连重要的建筑或者描述去大连中山实验学校的路径.

(目的:训练学生听说读写能力,巩固学过的指路的表达方法,检验本课的教学任务是否完成.)

5.Homework

如果课堂时间有限,Consolidation中的第3项任务可留作业.

【教学反思】

总之,本课的任务就是让学生学会认路和指路.同时,本课又是一节阅读课,我依据阅读的规律和原则进行设计课程,有针对性地安排教学过程。采用多种有效的教学方法,鼓励学生积极感知、体验、实践、参与和讨论,使学生进行充分的口头和笔头交流,培养了综合运用语言的能力。丰富课程资源,采用多媒体教学手段,低耗费高效率,最大可能提高教学质量。同时围绕“英国伦敦著名建筑物”这一话题进行讨论,培养跨文化意识。

Module 1 Hobbies

一、 重点难点

1、 重点:

(1)、通过谈论兴趣与爱好训练学生的听、说、读、写能力,掌握使用简单句表达兴趣爱好以及对兴趣爱好的

简单评析。

(2)、了解句子基本成份(主语,谓语,直接宾语与间接宾语,宾语补足语,表语,状语)。

2、难点:

(1)、句子成份的辨析(主语,谓语,直接宾语与间接宾语,宾语补足语,表语,状语)

(2)、英语简单句的五种基本句型和There be句型。

Module 1 Hobbies

Period 1: Listening and Vocabulary &Pronunciation and Speaking

Teaching Aims and Demands:

1. Language knowledge:

Key vocabulary: collect, collection, tidy, tidy up, doll, fan, stamp, untidy, least, take up, all the time, be interested in, interview

2. Listening skill: To understand conversations involving talking about one’s hobbies. Improve the students’ listening ability.

1. Greeting. Talk about the winter vacation.

How was your winter vacations?

What did you do during the vacation?

设计意图:寒假回校第一节课,从学生的寒假生活入手,谈论假期生活,逐步引入主题,并导入部分新单词和词组。

1. List the hobbies of the family members’.

2. Guess what hobbies the teachers have. In this way show the new words “stamp, doll, fan”.

3. Talk about the hobbies:

Which hobby is expensive?

Which hobby takes up the least space?

Which hobby is good for us students?

Which hobby do you like best?

设计意图:通过列举家庭成员和猜测教师的兴趣爱好,完成新单词的教学。对兴趣爱好的简单问题,既对列举的部分兴趣爱好有一基本的评价,也为下面的听力作好铺垫。

设计意图:在常规听力练习中进一步提高学生听的能力。

设计意图:通过对话的听读操练,增强对目标语的输入,在大输入量的基础上,为后续的输出做准备。匹配题和问题的设置帮助学生能较好的完成Activity4&5。

1. Ask the Ss to choose a character from the conversation.

2. Work in pairs, get each of them to find out which character his / her partner selects.

设计意图:通过不同角色的猜测,让学生使用不同问句,并在提问过程中加深对对话的理解,在完成 “找人‖的活动中,加强目标语的训练和加大语言的输入和输出量。

1. Divide the classroom into 3 or 4 groups. Ask the Ss in each group to make conversations one by one to find out who is a good friend of his/ hers.

2. Make conversations to find out who has the most hobbies or has the same opinions about hobbies.

3. Make conversations with the ones in the group like following:

4. Make sure the one who has the same opinion about hobbies or who has the most hobbies as you is your good friend.

1. Show part of many pictures of different kind of hobbies and ask the Ss to guess what hobby it is.

2. While guessing, make simple comment on each hobby, like:

I like mountain biking because it is exciting.

Many teenagers like reading. Because they think it is useful and relaxing.

设计意图:利用学生所喜爱的猜测游戏,将学生导入篇章学习,激发学生对篇章的喜爱,同时对不同的兴趣爱好作简单评述,将生词教学放入适当语境之中,训练学生对生词的猜测技能,也为后续的篇章教学扫除词汇障碍。

设计意图:通过半控制性的两人小组活动,进一步让学生操练对不同的兴趣爱好的评价,同时对生词行必要的巩固。

Teaching Procedures:

1. Brain storming. Present the questions one after another.

设计意图:通过头脑风暴的形式,让学生复习课文中所学的重点单词。在问答中复习,使学习更有意义,同时为下面的Writing 做好准备。

Look at the sentences of Activity 6.

Rewrite the sentences using ―as well as, such as, or as a result‖.

Write new sentences according to the examples individually.

4. Share the sentences in pairs.

设计意图:通过对句子的仿写和造句,加强对目标语的操练,提高目标语运用的正确性,为后面的书面表达做铺垫。
