◆Children have the right to be properly fed, clothed and sheltered(庇护) by their family. If their family can’t do so, the government should take◆Children have the right to an education and medical care, which should be provided by the government.

◆Children must not be cruelly punished(惩罚) by their parents or any others.

◆Children have the right to expect the government to protect them from all kinds of abuse(虐待) and neglect(忽略).

◆No child under fifteen should be made to fight in an army.

Children have the right to be protected from being made to work too hard to make money for other people.

In some countries children do not have these rights. Many young children are made to work long hours in factories and on farms. In some countries there are so few schools that only rich children get an education. There are not enough doctors or nurses to help many children when they are sick.

The rights of children are, therefore, the rights people think children should have. They are not always the rights children really have.

Communication here means that people talk with each other about what they know, think and feel. We can learn a lot from good communication in our daily life. Part of the communication is unspoken, We sometimes show our feelings with our eyes, faces, bodies and attitudes. Some qualities can make good communication, including physical appearance, ability to speak, pleasant voice, how to hold the interest of others, and so on.

What should we do so that our communication will be effective(有效的)? Here are suggestions.

Firstly, you should be yourself. Successful people never change personal character from one situation to another. They’re the same whether they’re having a talk with their close friends or being interviewed for a job. They communicate with their whole being.

Secondly, whether you’re talking to one person or more, always remember to look at them. Don’t break eyes contact while talking. As you enter a room, move your eyes

comfortably, then look directly at those in the room and smile. This shows clearly that you are relaxed. Smiling is important. The best kind of smile and eye contact are gentle and comfortable.

You should also gather information about other people. If you attend a meeting or an interview, don’t immediately (立即) start throwing your ideas. Stop for a second. Know what’s going on there. What’s the mood of the others — are they down, up, happy? Do they want to learn from you, or do they show any interest? If you can feel what’s happening to others, you will be better able to reach them. So, listen before you talk.

The fourth suggestion is that you get your energy up. Before the meeting, collect your thoughts about it. You walk calmly through the doorway. Pay attention to the person you are meeting to find out what he is interested in. Properly collected energy comes across when you sincerely believe something. Always be confident. The audience may disagree with you, but they can’t question your belief.

Lastly, I would like to remind that you should not be too serious. That is to lighten up. Take a good hard look at yourself. Do you say “I” too often? Do you complain often? If you

When the bell rings, every student takes out an iPad. The light from the screens makes their young faces pretty and lively.

That’s what happens every day at my school in the US. We use iPads in class.

I felt surprised and excited when I got an iPad on the first day I arrived at the school. But it was not free. I paid about $100 to use it for three years.

Every iPad at my school has a special learning system (系统) called Focus. Teachers put their teaching materials like textbooks and PPTs on it. When we have classes, we enter the system and download (下载) the materials with our iPads.

It makes the classes interesting and efficient. For example, several weeks ago, we learned about former South African president(总统) Nelson Mandela. Our teacher prepared a video in which Mandela made an encouraging speech. We could not only watch the video, but also read the written copy of his speech at the same time. Thanks to the video, I know more about the great man.

We also do our homework with iPads. If the homework is made up of multiple choices (选择题), we can know our grades right after we hand in our homework online. If it’s articles, teachers grade them online, without needing to look through so many papers.

However, there are still some bad points about learning with iPads. Some of my classmates play games or log on social networking websites in class.

I think the key to using iPads well is to have good self-control (自制力). Don’t you think so?

( )61.The writer paid about dollars to rent an ipad every year.

( )63.The underlined word”efficient”means in Chinese.

A.有影响的 B.高效的 C.有活力的 D.无聊的

( )64.We can’t with ipads.

( )65.What’s the best title of the passage?

A.How to use an ipad B.Have classes with an ipad

As I walked through Beijing's Houhai neighborhood, something green caught my eye. Sprouts(豆芽), mushrooms and flowers all came out on people's heads, standing straight up. I was so surprised at the craziness that a lot of people have plants come out on their heads.

The trend(潮流) was a great chance for business. Merchants(小贩) stood on street comers' selling all kinds of plastic(塑料的) mushrooms and sprouts. Three yuan for one sprout, five for a pair. Customers put what they bought onto their heads and walked off, and the sprouts danced happily on people's head. China Daily also reported that one Taobao merchant sold 28,850 hairpins(发夹) in a month.

The strange trend had been popular for 2 months in China. I wanted to find out what was behind the strange hairpins. I went to the 798 Art District to do some research, There were tons of tourists with sprouts on heads, and a shopkeeper told me that the film Monster Hunt was the cause of the popularity. The 2015 Chinese movie featured a cute little monster with a patch of moss(苔藓)on the top of his head.

CNN reported in a different way: The idea of the hairpins came from a Japanese cartoon character. One smiling face has a pair of green leaves growing on its head. The trend was catching great attention from all over the world. Major newspapers like The Wall Street Journal and The Telegraph showed their confusion over the strange trend and they said they really couldn't understand why Chinese people were so crazy.

Some people think perhaps the hairpins are a symbol of the cute and childlike "meng" culture. Others believe they are the symbol of the love for cartoons. I think maybe this is showing their strong wishes to protect the environment.

Who knows? In fact, nobody cares about it. After all, beauty is mysterious(种秘的). What is it on your head?

66.The hairpins mentioned in the passage are mostly made from .

A.sprouts B.mushrooms C.flowers D.plastic

.

A. Merchants B. tourism C. environment D. big stores

68.The underlined word “confusion” A.they are angry with the trend B.they think the trend is a pity

C.they think the trend is terrible D.they can’t explain the trend

.

A. the strange hairpin may show people's wishes to protect the environment

B. merchants sold all kinds of wooden sprouts and mushrooms

C. a lot of people care about what the trend is for

D. the strange hairpin may come from a Korean cartoon

一、苹果简介

Apple Inc. is an American multinational corporation headquartered in Cupertino, California, that designs, develops, and sells consumer

electronics, computer software, online services, and personal computers. Its best-known hardware products are the Mac line of computers, the iPod media player, the iPhone smartphone, and the iPad tablet computer. Its online services include iCloud, iTunes Store, and App Store. Its consumer software includes the OS X and iOS operating systems, the iTunes media browser, the Safari web browser, and the iLife and iWork creativity and productivity suites.

Apple was founded by Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak, and Ronald Wayne on April 1, 1976, to develop and sell personal computers. It was incorporated as Apple Computer, Inc. on January 3, 1977, and was renamed as Apple Inc. on January 9, 2007, to reflect its shifted focus towards consumer electronics.

Apple is the world's second-largest information technology company by revenue after Samsung Electronics, and the world's third-largest mobile phone maker after Samsung and Nokia.[5] Fortune magazine named Apple the most admired company in the United States in 2008, and in the world from 2008 to 2012.[6][7][8][9][10] On September 30, 2013, Apple surpassed Coca-Cola to become the world's most valuable brand in the Omnicom Group's "Best Global Brands" report.[11] However, the company has received criticism for its contractors' labor practices, as well as for its own environmental and business practices.

As of June 2014, Apple maintains 425 retail stores in fourteen

countries,[12][13] as well as the online Apple Store and iTunes Store,[14] the latter of which is the world's largest music retailer.[15] Apple is the largest publicly traded corporation in the world by market capitalization, with an estimated market capitalization of $446 billion by January, 2014.[16] As of September 29, 2012, the company had 72,800 permanent

full-time employees and 3,300 temporary full-time employees worldwide.

[17]Its worldwide annual revenue in 2013 totalled $170 billion. As of Q1

2014, Apple's five-year growth average is 39% for top line growth and 45% for bottom line growth. In May 2013, Apple entered the top ten of the Fortune 500 list of companies for the first time, rising 11 places above its 2012 ranking to take the sixth position.[18]

二、乔布斯介绍

Steven Paul “Steve” Jobs (/ˈdʒɒbz/; February 24, 1955 – October 5, 2011)[3][4] was an American entrepreneur,[5] marketer,[6] and inventor,[7] who was the co-founder, chairman, and CEO of Apple Inc. Through Apple, he is widely recognized as a charismatic pioneer of the personal computer revolution[8][9] and for his influential career in the computer and consumer electronics fields, transforming “one industry after another, from computers and smartphones to music and movies.”[10] Jobs also co-founded and served as chief executive of Pixar Animation Studios; he became a member of the board of directors of The Walt Disney Company in 2006, when Disney acquired Pixar. Jobs was among the first to see the commercial potential of Xerox PARC's mouse-driven graphical user interface, which led to the creation of the Apple Lisa and, a year later, the Macintosh. He also played a role in introducing the LaserWriter, one of the first widely available laser printers, to the market.[11]

After a power struggle with the board of directors in 1985, Jobs left Apple and founded NeXT, a computer platform development company specializing in the higher-education and business markets. In 1986, he acquired the computer graphics division of Lucasfilm, which was spun off as Pixar.[12] He was credited in Toy Story (1995) as an executive producer. He served as CEO and majority shareholder until Disney's purchase of Pixar in 2006.[13] In 1996, after Apple had failed to deliver its operating system, Copland, Gil Amelio turned to NeXT Computer, and the NeXTSTEP platform became the foundation for the Mac OS X.[14] Jobs returned to Apple as an advisor, and took control of the company as an interim CEO. Jobs brought Apple from near bankruptcy to profitability by 1998.[15][16][17]

As the new CEO of the company, Jobs oversaw the development of the iMac, iTunes, iPod, iPhone, and iPad, and on the services side, the company's Apple Retail Stores, iTunes Store and the App Store.[18] The success of these products and services provided several years of stable financial returns, and propelled Apple to become the world's most valuable publicly traded

[19]company in 2011. The reinvigoration of the company is regarded by many

commentators as one of the greatest turnarounds in business

history.[20][21][22]

In 2003, Jobs was diagnosed with a pancreas neuroendocrine tumor. Though it was initially treated, he reported a hormone imbalance, underwent a liver transplant in 2009, and appeared progressively thinner as his health

[23]declined. On medical leave for most of 2011, Jobs resigned in August

that year, and was elected Chairman of the Board. He died of respiratory arrest related to the tumor on October 5, 2011.

Jobs received a number of honors and public recognition for his influence in the technology and music industries. He has been referred to as

“legendary,” a “futurist” and a “visionary,” and has been described as the “Father of the Digital Revolution,” a “master of

innovation,”[29][30] “the master evangelist of the digital age”[31] and a “design perfectionist.”

三、Iphone

iPhone

The first-generation iPhone, 3G, 4, 5, 5C and 5S to scale.

Main article: iPhone

At the Macworld Conference & Expo in January 2007, Steve Jobs introduced the long-anticipated[187] iPhone, a convergence of an Internet-enabled smartphone and iPod.[188] The first-generation iPhone was released on June 29, 2007 for $499 (4 GB) and $599 (8 GB) with an AT&T contract.[189] On February 5, 2008, it was updated to have 16 GB of memory, in addition to the 8 GB and 4 GB models.[190] It combined a 2.5G quad band GSM and EDGE cellular phone with features found in handheld devices, running

scaled-down versions of Apple's Mac OS X (dubbed iPhone OS, later renamed iOS), with various Mac OS X applications such as Safari and Mail. It also includes web-based and Dashboard apps such as Google Maps and Weather. The iPhone features a 3.5-inch (89 mm) touchscreen display, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi (both "b" and "g").[188]

At Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) on June 9, 2008, Apple announced the iPhone 3G. It was released on July 11, 2008, with a reduced price of $199 for the 8 GB version, and $299 for the 16 GB version.[191] This version added support for 3G networking and assisted-GPS navigation. The flat silver back and large antenna square of the original model were eliminated in favor of a curved glossy black or white back. Software capabilities were improved with the release of the App Store, providing applications for download that were compatible with the iPhone. On April 24, 2009, the App Store [192] surpassed one billion downloads.[193] At WWDC on June 8, 2009, Apple announced the iPhone 3GS. It provided an incremental update to the device, including faster internal components, support for faster 3G speeds, video recording capability, and voice control.

At WWDC on June 7, 2010, Apple announced the redesigned iPhone 4.[194] It features a 960x640 display, the Apple A4 processor also used in the iPad, a gyroscope for enhanced gaming, 5MP camera with LED flash, front-facing VGA camera and FaceTime video calling. Shortly after its release,

reception issues were discovered by consumers, due to the stainless steel band around the edge of the device, which also serves as the phone's cellular signal and Wi-Fi antenna. The issue was corrected by a "Bumper Case" distributed by Apple for free to all owners for a few months. In June 2011, Apple overtook Nokia to become the world's biggest smartphone maker by volume.[195]

On October 4, 2011, Apple unveiled the iPhone 4S, which was first released

[196]on October 14, 2011. It features the Apple A5 processor, and is the

first model offered by Sprint (joining AT&T and Verizon Wireless as the United States carriers offering iPhone models). On October 19, 2011, Apple announced an agreement with C Spire Wireless to sell the iPhone 4S with that carrier in the near future, marking the first time the iPhone was officially supported on a regional carrier's network.[197] Another notable feature of the iPhone 4S was Siri voice assistant technology, which Apple had acquired in 2010,[198] as well as other features, including an updated 8MP camera with new optics. Apple sold 4 million iPhone 4S phones in the first three days of availability.[199]

On September 12, 2012, Apple introduced the iPhone 5.[200] It added a 4-inch display, 4G LTE connectivity, and the upgraded Apple A6 chip, among several other improvements.[201] Two million iPhones were sold in the first

twenty-four hours of pre-ordering[202] and over five million handsets were sold in the first three days of its launch.[203]

A patent filed in July 2013 revealed the development of a new iPhone battery system that uses location data in combination with data on the user's habits to moderate the handsets power settings accordingly. Apple is working towards a power management system that will provide features such as the ability of the iPhone to estimate the length of time a user will be away from a power source to modify energy usage and a detection function that adjusts the charging rate to best suit the type of power source that is being used.[204]

In March 2013, one of the largest cellular phone companies in the United States, T-Mobile, announced that it would begin selling the iPhone 5 on April 12. The announcement of the iPhone came with the announcement that the company would begin implementing 4G cellular service for its users.[205] Upon the launch of the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C, Apple sold over nine million devices in the first three days of its launch, which sets a new record for first-weekend smartphone sales.[206] This was the first time that Apple has simultaneously launched two models and the inclusion of China in the list of markets contributed to the record sales result.[207]

On October 15, 2013, U.S. Cellular, the United States fifth largest cell phone provider, announced that it would in fact begin to carry the iPhone. It is the last of the five major carriers, including AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, and T-Mobile to acquire the phone. The phone went on sale on November 8 at U.S. Cellular stores around the country.[208] The finalization of a deal between Apple and China Mobile, the world's largest mobile network, was announced in late December 2013. The multi-year agreement provides iPhone access to over 760 million China Mobile subscribers.[209]

In a March 2014 interview, Ive used the iPhone as an example of Apple's ethos of creating high-quality, life-changing products, explaining that they are comparatively expensive due to the intensive effort that is used to make them:

We don’t take so long and make the way we make for fiscal reasons ... Quite the reverse. The body is made from a single piece of machined aluminium ... The whole thing is polished first to a mirror finish and then is very finely textured, except for the Apple logo. The chamfers

[smoothed-off edges] are cut with diamond-tipped cutters. The cutters don’t usually last very long, so we had to figure out a way of

mass-manufacturing long-lasting ones. The camera cover is sapphire

However, compared to these warm-hearted people, some people are afraid of donating blood because they think this may bring them illness. Are there any risks when you donate your blood? The answer is: No!  Advantages When you go to donate blood, first you need to fill in a chart* about your personal information like: name, age, telephone number etc. Then your pulse* will be taken and your blood pressure checked. If anything is found, you will not be allowed to give blood. One of the advantages of giving blood is that if anything is found to be wrong with it after it has been tested, you will be quickly told. This can let you know that you have a disease or other condition that you did not realize.  Safety The most often asked question about the risks of donating blood is whether one can be infected* by the material used. All materials used for blood donation, such as needles*, bags are new, clean and safe. They are used only for your donation and then they are burnt up. This stops you from being infected. The only uncomfortable thing you will feel is when the needle is put into your arm.  Time The whole donation from start to finish takes less than an hour, with the actual donating lasting from 10 to 15 minutes. The minerals* in your blood are replaced in 6 to 8 weeks. So you are allowed to donate blood every 56 days, making it possible to donate up to six times a year.  Attentions After you are finished donating blood, you will be given a number to call if you feel a little bit faint*. And the needle that was used may leave a bruise* for a few hours. After donating, you will be given the opportunity to eat a snack and have a drink.
