Should Food Be Banned on the Subway?

Currently, some cities are considering a food ban on subways, which has sparked heated discussion. Some people say food should be banned because of the trash and rats they attract. And, garbage from discarded food can cause track fires. Beyond sanitary and mechanical concerns, food can also cause fights, as was discovered last week by one passenger who criticized a woman eating steamed stuffed bun on the subway. However, some others are opposed to the idea. They argue that people like eating in the train in the morning because they don't have enough time to eat at their houses or restaurants. Sometimes that may be the only time or meal a transit rider may be able to eat especially when traveling long distances. Besides, there are people, for example diabetics, who do require food at various times to maintain blood-sugar levels.

Personally, I'm against the ban because of the huge inconvenience it would cause to commuters, and the expense involved in enforcing it. Still, I believe we should have a little common courtesy. I think we all have responsibility to try to treat our subway system and fellow riders with respect, and that extends to food as well.

Fast Food

Fast food is becoming more popular in China, especially among children and teenagers. Today、it’s certainly difficult to think of any other single thing that mirrors the fast pace of modern society as powerfully as fast food.

There are several reasons for its popularity. First, it is very convenient and saves a lot of time. The trends of modern society seem to all point to one ultimate goal — saving time, and fast food well serves this purpose. Second, its popularity is also attributed to the clean and comfortable environment of fast food restaurants, the excellent service, and the guaranteed quality of food.

However From the nutritional point of view. It usually does not compose a balanced diet and doctors suggest that people, especially children, eat fast food as little as possible.

Therefore, fast food is only a good choice when you are in a hurry and turn to it once in a while. (157 words)

Personally, I don’t believe that giving children pocket money is a very good idea. In my opinion, doing so only encourages children to think that things in life are free. As humans, we only value those things that cost us something to obtain. When I was a child, my parents never gave us any pocket money(or “allowance” as we call it in America). They made us work to earn any money we had. They wanted us to know that money is valuable, and that hard work is even more valuable. They wanted us to learn to make wise choices with our money, and they knew we would be more careful with our money if we earned it ourselves. Finally, they wanted us to understand that work and money are related: you cannot have one without the other. I think there are two things parents need to do to help their children understand the value of money. First, they should make their children earn their spending money, which will make the children consider the money precious. Second, they should not always stop their children from doing foolish things with their money. Making some mistakes will teach the children to be wise.

1. 每天全世界都有成千上万的人死于交通事故;

2. 分析产生交通事故的原因;

Only Stricter Traffic Laws Can Prevent Accidents

Though the possibility of living a long and happy life is greater than ever before, every day thousands of people all over the world are killed or horribly mutilated on the roads just because of traffic accidents.

This situation is mainly due to the following two reasons. In the first place, the drivers are becoming less aware of social morality. When they are sitting behind a steering wheel, they totally forget the traffic laws which should be complied with. In the second place, the surprising thing is that society smiles so benignly on the peace breakers and seems to condone their behavior. As the transportation develops, cities become almost uninhabitable because of heavy traffic and the countryside is destroyed by the complicated road networks.

Therefore,jitjisjhighjtimejthatjajworldjcodejwere_created_tojreduce this_jen^jlessjwa^e_of\human _life and to_have some beneficial_ effect on the accident rate. (153 words)

should food be baned on subway篇三:Should Food Be Banned on the Subway

Should Food Be Banned on the Subway In contemporary society, the rise in phenomenon of

eating on the subway has been in the limelight. There has been an argument that whether a food ban is necessary or not.

Those who favor the food ban argue that subway is a public place, thus, it is annoying to eat here which attract rants. In contrast, individuals who object to it, on the other hand, maintain that the reverse is true. There are, still, vital factors stand out among them. Saving time will definitely prove to be rewarding in the long run. As busy city life nowadays, officers and students are too busy to eat. As a result, having food on the subway, which is not only saves time, but also facilitates to provide them with physical energy, becoming a popular way. However, every sword has two blades, eating on the subway is not an exception. Some smelly food may bother others, so is the rubbish. In addition, the huge inconvenience it would cause commuters. Fragment, the expense involved in enforcing it.

There is probably some truth to both arguments. Above all, weighing up the pros and cons of food ban, I am inclined

to the latter. From my standpoint, the weakness of eating on the subway remains in morality, it does not actually hurt others benefit. To conclude, we need to give more tolerance to this behavior. After all, tolerance is the most essential qualification that anyone who wants to achieve

maltreatment

Living alone or Living with Roommates

In contemporary society the rise in phenomenon of living alone, especially in the university has been in the limelight. There has been a controversy that whether living alone is necessary or not.

Those who advocate living separately deem that living alone can make folks independent, which is the symbol of amateur. First and foremost, living alone improves our comprehensive quality. Moreover, it satisfies the need of privacy. In addition, it provides us with confidence after solving problems on our own. In contrast, individuals who are opposed to it, on the other hand, maintain that the

reverse is true. In addition, they assert that human beings are social animals, who achieve success because of the social relationship. Thus, living alone may cause a severe result, namely, the hurt-breaking loneliness, the loss of friend, most importantly, the decrease of the ability dealing with complex social relationship which prevents the advancement of self-improvement.

There is probably some truth to both arguments. Above all, weighing up the pros and cons of food ban, I am inclined to the latter. To conclude, I reckon that what the purpose of going to the university in China is to set up your own relationship, so as to adjust yourself to the society in

advance, making what we learn into practice. On the other hand, if there is no chance to be a member of the society, what is the meaning of university?

Reserving a Seat

As the society develops dramatically, a worrying problem has sprung up that college student reserving seats for their classmates.

The reasons to this phenomenon can be briefly summed

up as follows. First and foremost, one of the most contributing causes is that it is of convenience. That is, only one roommate can take up all seats that they need. In addition, the fundamental reason stems from the fact that it saves time. Thus, other roommates can get up later, not worried about finding the seat. There are, still, influential factors stand out among them. It is fair for students in a dormitory. What I mean is that everyone reserves in turn, they take give off and pay back, and they think it worthy. Fragment, reserving a seat give rise to inconvenience and unfairness for others. Were the situation to continue as it is, we would pay a higher price. Namely, the quarrels even the fight for reserving a seat which has a harming effect on the harmony.

Rules and regulations are supposed to be made to improve this situation. What′ s more, we, each individual ought to cultivate the awareness of being comprehensive. Moreover, we are supposed to take a proper attitude towards it. With our joint efforts, we can stop this bad phenomenon

should food be baned on subway篇四:Food Should Be Banned on the Subway

Food Should Be Banned on the Subway When I go home on the Friday by subway, I usually see some people eat food in the underground. The smell of the food spreads all over the cabin. And these passengers still eat ignoring other’s dissatisfied sight. Sometimes, I can even see some food residue, such as water、milk and bread crumbs, dropping on the floor.

This behavior should be banned. Because eating food on the subway is impolite and unclean. The residue of food will attract rat, flies and mosquitoes. It’s dangerous to the subway because rat will chew cable. And maybe passengers will slip if they don’t notice the residue on the floor. It’s dangerous to the old or children.

We should eat food before we take the subway or after. When we on the subway, we should put the food in our bags. If we see someone eat in the subway, we should remind them not to do it. And we should appeal it on the internet which can make more people stop eating food on the subway.

Generation Gap

Though many aspects of our social life have been improved, the generation gap between the youths and the olders remain and even grows wider. In my opinion, because of the influence of individualism from western

civilization, the youths do not blindly follow what the elders say, that causes the gap. The young are creative and revolutionary, always go along with the trend and like changing. While the old, accustomed to everything of the past, are hostile to change. Also with more and more different beliefs and

philosophical ideas, it is natural the young hold different opinions from the old. I think in order to narrow the gap, both parts should try to understand and respect each other, instead of trying to change others as they wish. Diversity doesn't mean conflict so long as they hold the right attitude towards the problems.

Giving Children Cell Phones

More and more children are showing up at school each September with cell phones. Many parents buy cell phones to their children because it is a nice safety measure. It gives those working parents a little sense of control and security to know when their children are off campus and on their way home. But having a cell phone might be a problem. Parents may find themselves facing a frightening bill at the end of the month. The reason: chatting on the phone and sending text messages can soon become the favorite pastime of preteens and teenagers. Worse still, cell phones in schools can lead to

classroom distractions, text-message cheating and inappropriate photographs. Knowing their children can always be reached is reassuring for parents. But before buying their child a cell phone, I think parents should decide if the child is really capable of managing his or her own phone. Besides, parental control must be exercised in the use of the phone. For example, they should set limits on how long the child is allowed to stay on the phone.

We Shouldn't Totally Turn to the Internet

We Shouldn't Totally Turn to the Internet

Nowadays, Internet has become an indispensable part in our life, and we use it for various purposes, such as searching useful information and chatting online. However, now more and more people turn to the Internet for help whenever they have trouble in finding solutions to their problems, and this phenomenon has aroused the public's attention.

Relying on the Internet to solve all our difficulties can have bad impacts on us. On one hand, since we can always settle the troubles by searching solutions online, we can become very lazy and don't bother to think up answers by ourselves, which can hinder the development of creative thinking. On the other hand, the answers online may be inaccurate or wrong. If we use them without thinking the credibility of them, we may make serious mistakes someday.

As far as I'm concerned, we shouldn't completely depend on the Internet to settle problems. When we come across some difficulties, we’d better try our best to find possible solutions. If we make great efforts and still can't come up with an answer, then we can surf online to search solutions. But we should question the correctness of these answers before we adopt them.
