One Hundred and Six Pens

While I was reading, the telephone rang. “Hello, this is He Yu, When do you plan to see your students with me?” The other side of the phone asked. “Well, let us make it at Friday if it’s ok for you!” “Ok, see you that day.”

Having hanged up the phone, I began to recall my days of five months’ internship. Two years ago, I took the position of the grade four practice English teacher in The Quan Nan Third Primary School. The moment I left, I promised to the dejectedly crying students to come back to see them. Now the day came.

What should I bring to them? I considered this question r with a pen twirled around my fingers. Pen? A scene rose before my eyes that those children hold already-short pencils scratching on their papers . Pens were exactly what they needed. It was the best choice. So I went to a shop to choose 106 pens for my 106 students.

I began the trip with a heavy bag of pens. Upon my arrival at school, dozens of students swarmed forward and I was soon crowded around by the bouncing boys and girls. “Miss Xiao, you finally come, we have been looking forward to your coming all the time!” said Li Yan, a well-performed girl.

“Nice to meet you again!” I greeted to them. “Nice to meet you, too!” A voice came from the corner of the class. It was Miao Chen, a boy whose uncontrollable behaviors had always driven me crazy. I was surprised at his reaction for my appearance. “Oh, your English is much better than before!” “He has been learning to learn English since you left!” A boy called out. “He once said he missed you!” Another boy shouted. The crowded exploded with laughter. Miao Chen turned aside to hide his blushes. I came to him and put my hand on his shoulder, “I

believe you are a good boy.” He raised his head and smiled brightly.

“This Time I bring some presents for you.” On hearing the news, the children could not help clapping hands and bouncing around. There were 106 students and each person had one. “Miss Xiao, why do you give us gifts?” asked the boy next to me. “It’s for souvenir.” I replied. “But why choose pen?” He asked again. “You can use it to record what happened every single day. I hope you study happily and write your own life.” I explained. The children nodded without fully understanding. “I promise to keep it and never lose it!” Miao Chen looked towards me with innocent and firm eyes.

When it was time to go, they all came to see me off. They were reluctant to part with me again. “Miss Xiao, will you teach us in the future?” Miao Chen asked me before I went out the school gate. “Maybe not.” I turned around. “You mean this is the last time we meet?” Li Yan whispered disappointedly. “If we have a chance to meet some day, show me the pen and let me know you, ok?” I tried to comfort them. “Ok!” They made a rapid response to me and laughed satisfactorily.

In the glow of the setting sun, I left them. I came with 106 pens in the bag, while I went with full love in my heart.

每个人对大学的认识都有所不同，同样，每个阶段的人对大学的认识也有所不同。而我，在不同的阶段也对大学有不同的认识。小学时，大学是一个梦，多么遥远的事情，上了大学就意味着能找一份好工作，让家人过上幸福的生活。初中时，大学是一种期望，认为能够上大学的人都是非常了不起的人，于是我总是希望能够考上一所好的高中从而更加容易地走进大学。高中时，大学是一份任务，一切为了高考，寒窗苦读12年，就是为了最后一次高考。那一刻，大学越来

越近，我也越来越憧憬大学生活了，憧憬那无拘无束的自由的生活。 如今，我已走进了大学校门。然而，大学并不像自己当初想的那么完美。大学毕业就意味着一大批的大学生失业，大学生满街都是，每天还要为各种事情而忙碌着。跟自己想象中的大学生活完全不一样 我的大学没有北大那么悠久的历史，没有清华那么好的教育资源，但所有的一切都不能阻止我奋斗的激情、为梦想追逐的勇气！有人说：理想很丰满，现实很骨感，但是谁知每一个为了理想努力拼搏的人，他的大学远不能用骨干来描述。

犹记得高考后的那晚，我已知道我的成绩不能上一所很有面子的大学，也有过沮丧也有过泪水。面对将要来临的赤裸裸的现实，再坚

强的人都无法接受生存之道的打击。短暂的悲伤之后，我重振信心，大学不是在于学校的等级，更重要的是自己是否有一颗不被现实摧败的雄心。很幸运自己进入了合肥学院，来到这里生活学习，相比而言，我的人生也更加丰富。

同学们说大学生活乏味，大学无趣。的确，大学生活缺少了幻想中的激情，远没有想像中的精彩。但我们应该把握机会，因为机会只给有准备的人，机会也爱正在寻找他的人。人生能有多少岁月能让我们虚度啊？珍惜时间，珍惜我们的拥有。把时间花在对自己毫无意义的事上，那是一种悲哀，是一种失败。进入工业大学时，我就对自己的大学生活有了一个总体的规划。

如果说人生是一本书，那么大学生活便是书中最美丽的彩页；如果说人生是一台戏，那么大学生活便是戏中最精彩的一幕;如果说人生是一次从降生到死亡的长途，那么大学生活就是风华正茂的少年，这就是我的大学生活。军训期间，我自愿作为班级负责人，积极为班级同学的生活等事物服务，短暂的半个月使我懂得，和不同的人相处你会学到不一样的精彩。大学就像一个小社会，错综复杂的关系犹如闪烁的霓红灯，让人琢磨不定。只是，见到的和听到的，已经能证明些什么。竞争犹如一只铁鞭，驱赶着我们走向功利之路，无论是朋友，还是恋人，都在这样微妙的关系中扭曲了。不过，让我高兴的是，即使有人费尽心机争名逐利，我仍能找到许多游离在名利之外的朋友，我们都懂得，青春的色彩不应沾染铜臭。夜里，我梦见，携着朋友们的手，奔跑在绿色的田野中，笑靥如阳光般灿烂。

告别悲观 桌上有半杯水——这是事实。 桌上只有半杯水——说得没错。 桌上还有半杯水——我看到了你的微笑。 由此可见，不易改变的是这个世界，可以改变的是你的心态。面对同一扇门，有人悲观于门内的黑暗，有人却乐观于门内的宁静；有人悲观于门外的风雨，有人却乐观于门外的自由。悲观与乐观，不同的心态，我要说：告别悲观。 1914年某天晚上，爱迪生的电影实验室突遭火灾，损失巨大。爱迪生安慰伤心之极的妻子说：“不要紧，别看我已67岁了，可我并不老。从明天早晨起，一切都将重新开始，我相信没有一个人会老得不能重新开始工作的。”第二天，爱迪生不但开始动工建造新车间，而且又开始发明一种新的灯——一种帮助消防队员在黑暗中前进的便携式探照灯。火灾对爱迪生就像是一个小插曲。 他在80岁时，仍然保持着发明家的精神，艰苦地进行着发明创造活动。1927年，他成立了爱迪生植物研究公司，投入一个崭新的研究领域，寻觅化工新材料。81岁的爱迪生成功地从野草中提炼出橡胶，受到人们极高的评价。 1931年10月18日清晨3时24分，爱迪生带着宽慰的微笑，闭目辞世，享年84岁。临终时他坦然地说：“我为人类的幸福，已经尽力了，没有什么可遗憾的了。” 举行葬礼的那天，全美国熄灭电灯一分钟，以示哀悼。这是人们表达对爱迪生无限怀念之情的最隆重的方式，也是人们献给这位伟大发明家的一曲无言的赞歌。 面对同一扇门，你会再懦弱地无从选择、犹豫不前吗？你会再悲观得恐惧、不安吗？告别悲观吧！也许你无法改变世界，但你可以摈弃悲观的心态，直面挑战与磨练。 桌上还有半杯水，我们微笑吧……有一首歌是这样唱的“我们都需要勇气，来面对流言蜚语”。是的，人人都需要勇气。我们需要它来面对一切成功与失败，我们需要它来面对一切是与非，我们需要它来面对一切一切的事物。 自幼我就知道昭君出塞的故事。她的精神一直深深地感染了我。是什么驱使她不顾宫中金银珠宝，锦绣绸缎，舒服奢华的生活，来到环境恶劣，渺无人烟的边塞 ? 这是一个人说做就做的事吗？谁都知道，去了边塞是一去不返的选择，是不可能再回过头来的事了。昭君想过吗？她想过，是什么让她这样做，是勇气！ 当年曹操兵败赤壁，狼狈不堪地逃到华容道，但他还是中了神机妙算的诸葛亮之计，而等候与他搏斗的却是与他有过君臣交情的关羽。关羽满骨子里都是刚强与正义。这时，关羽面临了两种选择：一是擒曹操回去，获取功名。二是放掉曹操，回去受罚。而关羽已在军师面前立下了军令

We can know the English-speaking countries much deeper if we know English. Both China and English-speaking countries have realized the importance of the culture exchanging. Above all, English is useful and important, we must learn it well.

3.My Dream（我的梦想）

1) I have a dream from the first time I sit in a car—I want to drive. Driving is the most meaningful way to meet human being’s desire of “faster”. What’s more, driving a car can take me to any place I want whether it rains, snows, blows or not. A smooth ride in a good car is enjoyable. With rows of trees moving backward rapidly, music playing, breeze blowing, my soul flies in the air. I love this feeling very much.

2) My dream is to be an English teacher one day. Firstly, I like children very much. I would like to sing, to dance, and to play with them. Secondly, a teacher has two vacations each year. I can enjoy myself during the summer and winter holidays. Finally, I want to teach the students all I know and help them to explore their potential so that they can work better for our country in the future. In order to be a good teacher, I will train my patience, improve my handwriting, and enrich my knowledge.

In a word, I will study harder than ever to prepare for my future teaching job.

4. About Self-study（关于自学） As adult students in Chongqing TV University, self-study becomes very important. As for me, there are several pieces of tips of self-study.

First, I always make a study plan in the beginning of a new semester. Second, preview every unit before the lesson. Third, try to finish the homework after class. Fourth, go over what I have learnt in class regularly at home. Without review, you will absolutely forget what you’ve learnt as quickly as possible. So reviewing is helpful in understanding and memorizing what you’ve learnt.

5. The Job I Like（我喜欢这项工作）

I like to be a teacher. Three reasons have led me to choose this occupation. First, teaching is learning. To make my lectures more vivid and stimulating, I have to read more books, explore new knowledge and gain a better understanding of the world, which is the very thing I enjoy in my life. Second, teaching means freedom and independence. As a teacher, I’m free to use my own ideas and make my own decisions. Finally, I like teaching because it offers certain peace of mind. The News Report has always been my favorite TV program. The News Report contains a large amount of information ranging from the international political situation to the latest football game. And the most important character is its fast pace. Because of this fast pace, news programs can contain much information in a short time. In my opinion, the News Report is more than a TV program. It is a way of communication. From this program, people can know what is happening in the world now. I especially appreciate this while watching the news.

7. My Family（我的家庭）

There are seven people in my family. They're my grandfather, grandmother, father, mother, my two younger brothers and I. My father is a businessman. He's busy working every day. My mother is a housewife. She cooks meals, washes clothes, and teaches us lessons every day. One of my younger brothers is a junior high school student, and we go to the same school. My grandparents help my parents look after the youngest brother every day. We go to the movies every Sunday. How's your family?

8. About Television（关于电视）

Television has its good sides as well as bad ones. It makes us informed of daily news, lets us know the outside world, provides lessons for learners, and it has brought joy and interest into people’s lives.

Unfortunately, some television programs have been extremely harmful to the young. Violent movies are shown on TV programs. Children regard the murders as heroes or models, so they imitate. Therefore there happened many murders or shooting cases in American campuses. What a big harm!

So young people should learn to get ride of the bad influences of TV and learn to make use of the advantages that TV brings us.

Liu Kai is my classmate. He is a good student and always ready to help others. One day on his way to school, he saw a little girl crossing the road when a car nearly hit her. Just then Liu Kai rushed up to her and caught her by the arm. The little girl was saved. She told him where she lived, and he took her home. When Liu Kai hurried into the classroom, the teacher had already begun lesson. He told the teacher why he was late. He was then praised for what he had done.

My favorite book is “Dream of The Red Chamber”. The book tries to tell us that there are different kinds of love, only one kind which should be considered as True Love. In our life, we should marry the true love instead of wealth and good looking. From this book, we also get to know a part of the noble people’s life in Qing Dynasty and find some life philosophies from it. So this book is very instructive to people. We should learn more from this book as well as other books.

Egg is the basic ingredient to many dishes, like omelet and French toast. You can easily get eggs at any supermarket, and they are sold for a very cheap price too. My Dormitory Life

Compared with the forty year old shabby dormitory I am living in now, the one I lived in for three years in high school was heaven: three students shared one brand new suite with air conditioners and a bathroom.

In three years time we changed it thoroughly:the color of the floor turned from bright pink into muddy gray, and the closet a hive of insects proliferating among piles of rotten fruit.And our masterpiece was the bathroom, a never drying swamp which served as the habitat of various kinds of mold, and even rodents, rats would occasionally take the trouble to pay us a visit, and.., all three of us felt like sobbing when we at last had to say good bye to our lovely filthy dormitory. The first lesson our dormitory taught us was to look after ourselves. Frankly speaking, we were not good students at all. I still remember the underwear that was soaked in soapy water for one and a half years before it was finally thrown away. Almost each of the boys＇ dormitories had gradually developed its own unique "fragrance" usually a mixture of rotten fruit, unwashed socks, stunk towels and some junk food. We could tell one dormitory from another by sniffing instead of looking. Our tolerance towards untidiness was amazing.

However, in spite of all this, we really did make some progress. Bit by bit, we started to wash dirty clothes before they stunk, cleaned the garbage bin when it could hold no more trash, we even used brushes in a not-sc-successful attempt to refurbish the floor. The point was that we were not obeying any order, we did every bit of the cleaning for ourselves, because we wanted to live in a better place. Though nothing we did could be called an achievement, it was the first time we fully bore the consequences of our behavior, and took the responsibility.

Thus it was not surprising that I often found myself the only one to clean up my university dormitory which looked no better than a garbage bin when my roommates felt normal of it.

When talking about our dormitory life, and probably all the dormitory life, we should never leave out one thing. This was what we called "bed talks". Though it was considered "illegal,"there was nothing to stop us from deliberately starting a heated discussion right after lights were out. It was our favorite and the only way of ending our day, and we were as punctual for it as our parents are for work. What was the most common topic?Girls, of course! What other topics were there for three energetic adolescent males lying comfortably in bed? 《大学生活作文》

即将逝去的大学

如果说人生是一本书，那么大学生活便是书中最美丽的彩页;如果说人生是一台戏，那么大学生活便是戏中最精彩的一幕，如果说人生是一次从降生到死亡的长途旅行;那么拥有大学生活的我们，便可以看到最灿烂的风景。

在大学，不会再有老师苦口婆心的教诲和防腐不知疲倦的讲解;不会有每天做不完的习题和试卷;也不会天天为了分数、名次而焦急、苦恼……在体验大学生活的这一个月中，有这样一件事让我印象比较深刻：在大学的第一堂课上，有两个女生迟到了几分钟，按照以前的习惯打报告进教室。但后来老师说：“在大学中，如果你上课迟到或者有事想要早退的话，你不用打报告，只需悄悄地从后门出入，不要影响大家就好……”在这以后，我也遇到过其他在高中甚至想都不敢想的事情。比如可以随时出入宿舍和校门，因需要完成某事要逃课等。 所以，我总结出：大学，是一个完全靠自觉的过程。如果高中的我们还是一只雏鸟，那么大学的我们可以说已经长大，远离了父母的庇护，远离了老师的督促，剩下的只有自己做自己的主人。

所以，现在的我们要自己管好自己，自己规划自己美好的大学生活，并自己保证今后能够笑着谈起自己的大学生活。

大学的第二个特点就是有更多的时间和空间，大学中绝不会有从早上5点出宿舍上课直到晚上10点才回去休息的情况;也不会因为喜欢看《红楼梦》但怕被老师发现而东躲西藏的事情，更重要的是，在大学里有各种各样的活动等着你去参加和体验，而这些在高中都被视为纯属浪费时间的事情。其实，从这些事情中我们也能学到许多知识——课本里并没有的知识，学到许多经验或是教训，学到大学的丰富多彩……

所以，我认为，比知识更重要的是能力，而能力地培养需要一个过程，大学则是这样一个很好的过程。

所以，我们需要抓住每一个机会，更好地锻炼自己、提高自己，在丰富自己大学生活的同时，为自己多赢得几笔生活的财富!

大学，还有不同以往的种种特点：

大学，可以打手机、用电脑的地方，我们可以不必再为老师要查电子产品而苦恼，甚至

把手机藏在垃圾桶里或者天花板上天;

大学，除教室外你还可以去图书馆、参加社团活动等地方，我们也不必过每天除了书本就是习题的单调、乏味的生活;

大学，不必为出一趟校门而绞尽脑汁地编各种请假理由;

大学，不会因为和某个异性朋友多说几次话而被班主任老师请进办公室;

大学，……

大学生活和以往我们经历过的学习生活真的不同，它至少对现在的我来说包含这太多的意外和精彩。当然，大学生活对我们来说也有太多的诱惑，所以这也就需要我们以正确、积极的心态去面对，学会更好的地址诱惑。

如果有机会可以让我跟还在为大学奋斗的学弟学妹们说几句心里话，我真的想告诉他们：好好努力，争取早点来体验大学生活，因为想象和真实的感受真的不一样!我也想对那些想要放弃大学的学生们说：大学，是美好的4年，不要给自己一生留下遗憾!
