一、教材分析:

本课是冀教版小学英语(三年级起始版)第四册第三单元(All about me)的第4个新授课,Lesson16 How do you go to school? 经过一年半的学习,四年级下学期孩子们学习的重点逐渐过渡到各种基本句型。本单元前面三课分别学习了关于年龄、身高、住处的句子,本课教材以How do you go to school?为切入点,重点学习关于出行方式的交流:询问别人、介绍自己的出行方式。

二、学生分析:

孩子们经过一年半的学习,基本了解了字母:26个字母及常见字母组合的发音规则,词汇的学习方法:单词音形意用的结合、音节、重音及不同词类(名、动、数、形、冠等)的用法特点,初步体会英语句子的语序与汉语的不同,但对于句子结构及变化还比较陌生。本课内容对于孩子们来说并不陌生,已学习过四种出行方式by bus, by car, by bike, by taxi,以及句型How do you go to school? I go to school by ____? 另一种出行方式on foot /walk,dives me及选择此种出行方式的原因表述学生相对陌生。基于以上分析,本课时目标制定如下。

三、教学目标:

1、知识技能目标:

学生能够运用所学句型Do you walk to school? How do you go to school? I go to ___ by___ / on foot...询问、表达适合自己的出行方式。

2、 文化目标:让学生了解中英文说话方式的差异。

3.情感态度目标:

通过寻找句子规律及了解不同人们的出行方式,引导学生体会英语学习是有规律可循的,English is easy! 及交流开阔自己的眼界English is fun!

四、教学重难点:

1、教学重点:学生能够运用所学句型Do you walk to school? How do you go to school? I go to ___ by___ / on foot...询问、表达适合自己的出行方式。

2、教学难点:根据所学内容,进行对话编排。

1、图片出示各种交通工具,引出by,drive,ride,on foot,walk的用法。 其中,drive 强调字母 i 的发音,walk 强调字母组合al的发音,并举例。

七、教学流程(Teaching steps)

根据教学目标及学生的认知规律,我设计了以下教学步骤:

Step 1:Free talk

英语作为一种语言,提高实际应用能力才是学习它的真正目的。在引入新课时,我采取的是自由对话的形式,要求学生运用以前学习的英语知识结合实际情况进行交流,以此提高学生综合运用语言的能力。

T: How are you today? Do you like English? Do you like school? Do you like your home? Where is your home?

S: It’s over there.

T: Oh, really? You live near school!(板书live near school)由此,在生动自然的语言环境中呈现新知。

Free talk是我在常规教学中必有的一个环节,虽然只是简单的对话交流,但它在复习旧知的同时锻炼了孩子英语表达能力。每一个问题都和他们息息相关,使孩子真正感受到英语就在他们身边,感受到交流带给他们的自信。

Step 2: Show

这时,学生仍沉浸在英语会话之中,教师明确词组汉译之后询问其他学生“Do you live near school?”(板书)学生会根据自身情况回答,以此引出新句型,“I live a little far from school”。 在充分操练之后,询问学生“How do you go to school?”(板书)引出本课难点,这时学生会主动跟读,在轻松愉快的氛围中完成重点句型的呈现。

以上设计充分调动了学生的积极性,营造了和谐的教学氛围,将新知自然融于语言环境中呈现给学生,使孩子们乐于接受新知,为下一环节做出良好的铺垫。 Step 3: Drills

人们经常说:“The game is the best teacher.”因此,我在操练这一环节我设计了一个游戏——bingo,在相同时间里,小组一个成员看图片表演如何来上学,其他人用Chant进行问答,正确答案多者胜利。

这时,教师设问“Listen, how does Jane go to school? How about Cody?”(板书Sometimes I take the subway.)要求孩子们带着问题听一遍录音,然后跟读一遍录音。使孩子在练习听力的同时提高英语朗读能力。

Step 5:Practice

5年级学生的理性思维已经逐渐加强,他们不在只满足于游戏带给他们的快乐。他们需要合作、探究带给他们的成就感和满足感。在新知操练这一环节里我为他们设计了一个TPR活动,要求他们运用英语,调查班级同学居住地距离学校远近的情况,并形成书面材料,进行汇报。

T:Kids! I take some forms for you. Ask and answer in your group. Then write them in your form.OK?

学生通过亲自调查完成小组内表格,运用所学知识解决实际问题。讨论填表过程中教师要注意书写情况及时给予指导纠正。最后进行班级汇总,将小组内练习转变成全班练习。

我们始终认为知识是为现实生活服务的,因此,在这节教学的最后,布置孩子回家后做一份英语调查报告,调查家人如何去工作,形成英语书面材料。

Hello, everyone! What’s the weather like today? It’s a sunny day with a gentle breeze. It’s comfortable. So this morning I come to school by bike. It took me nearly 50 minutes. You know I live far from school. I often take buses to come here. But it takes me more than an hour. What about you? Today, let’s talk about how you go from one place to another. And

we will talk about the time it takes to get to places and how far it is between two places.

1a Looking and writing

Open your book at page19. Look at the picture carefully and read the dialogue. Then please write how the students in the picture get to school in the morning in the chart.

1b Listening and writing

Look at the picture again. How do students get to school? Let’s listen to a conversation between two people talking about this. Listen carefully and write the number of the name in the white box next to the student. Please do it individually. Then let’s check the answer.

Look at the sentences on the board. “They take the train. It takes about forty minutes.” “Take the train” means to ride the train. And we also use “take” to talk about a length of time. For example, it takes me 20minutes to get to school. So we use the same word, take, in two different ways. Now read the tapescript, shadow the how questions and underling the expressions.
