再探新目标GO FOR IT英语听力教学

[摘要]本文遵循《新课程标准》的要求,旨在探究新课程理念下新目标GO FOR IT听力教学中,如何通过更新课堂教学设计理念,拓宽学生听力学习途径,并重视听力过程性训练,以提高学生听力能力。

《英语课程标准(修订稿)》(以下简称《新课标》)中明确指出听力教学的目的是:培养听的策略,培养语感,特别强调培养在听的过程中获取和处理信息的能力。新目标英语教材GO FOR IT各单元的话题设计中都穿插了一些贴近学生生活实际,生动有趣的听力材料。然而在平时的听力教学中我们却习惯于让学生听录音材料若干遍后作相应的练习,再与老师校对答案,最后,老师对听力中的难点加以讲解,或干脆让学生看听力文字材料。这样学生往往会觉得枯燥无味,有的甚至不听,听力教学就达不到预期的效果。这种教学重心在成果(product),即教学的重点在于练习的正误和最终对录音材料进行文字上的讲解,学习者获得的是对语言知识的认识,而在听力理解及运用能力方面进步却不大。为了使听力教学能够促进学生在交际过程中听的能力的发展,在进行听力教学时,重心应从重成果(product)转移到重过程(process)上来,从而能够有效地利用好教材中的听力材料达到《新课标》关于听力教学的目标。著名语言专家Long认为:“当学生的听力得到发展时,他们才能对其语言充满自信。”由此可见,积极探索听力教学能更好地激发学生学习动机,调动积极情感因素。为此,笔者认为,应该更新教学理念,转变教学方法。

一、更新听力课堂教学设计理念

GO FOR IT 教材遵循一单元一话题的结构特点,因此,在听力教学中应围绕单元话题,同时结合功能、结构与任务,遵循任务型教学的基本原则,活动的设计以学生的生活经验和兴趣为出发点,鼓励学生积极参与,合作学习,主动思维,善于交流。在课堂教学中,教师要力求让学生在听的过程中投入个人情感,态度和价值观以及社会责任感,并且运用个人原有的社会文化知识,使“听”变为主动的听、有方向性的听、有实践意义的听。同时,把听说、听读、听写结合起来以培养学生的综合语言运用能力,最终提高其听力能力。
