Analysis of the teaching materials:

The language function of this unit is to talk about future intentions. The topic deals with life goals and the students should learn the structure and usages of “be going to” to express the future. The students should learn to make their life goals and dream jobs according to their knowledge and the actual circumstances.

Words and expressions:

pilot, engineer, professional basketball player,

computer programmer, grow up

Sentences:

— What are you going to be when you grow up?

— I’m going to be a/an ...

— How are you going to do that

— I’m going to ...( where are you going to work? „) Teaching Difficulties and focuses:

The structures and usage of “be going to” expressing the future. Get the students to grasp the basic sentences patterns: He/ She is going to„; They are going to „; Is he/she going to„?

Teaching steps:

step 1:warming- up

1.listening to an English song and ask students to write down the jobs in the song .

2.divide ss into two groups and pk which group know the most jobs.

3.a guessing game to learn the new jobs : engineer, pilot, computer programmer , professional basketball player.

be going to的用法

“be going to+动词原形”表示将要发生的事或打算、计划、决定要

做的事情。这是一般将来时的一种表示形式,常与一些表将来的时间

状语连用,如:tomorrow,next year,this evening等。例如: he is going to play basketball this afternoon.

变否定句时,直接在be动词后加not。

he isn't going to play basketball this afternoon.

变疑问句时,把be动词位于主语之前。

Section A and Section B 的内容整合,用三个课时上完。

本节课为单元第一课和第二课时,用两课时上完。主要活动为Section A 的1a和2。 通过Michael和Kangkang的对话,呈现了本课所要学的语法重点:将来时be going to do结构。结合本单元的话题Playing Sports, 呈现了重点短语:play basketball/football, have a basketball/football game, cheer … on, win (the game), prefer doing等。Playing Sports这个话题和学生们的生活紧密相连,容易激发学生的学习兴趣。但要正确使用be going to do对学生来说还是有一定困难的。困难一:be动词和主语不一致(多数学生);困难二:不会正确地将do替换成具体动词(少数学生)。所以,要求老师以课本文本内容为依据,结合学生的实际生活,引导学生正确地使用be going to do谈论自己的运动计划,并能用书面表达形式写出自己的运动计划。 Ⅱ.
